Lure pic thread. Lets see something unique

Featured Replies

I love looking at lures. Threads like the found lures thread is amazing and I thought why not let people show off prize lures, swimbaits, hand made or one off lures. That or a big and trailer combo you dont see.

To me this is worthy of a frame and hung on the wall. I just love how it looks matched up and by god it catches fish!

I like these kinds of lures. When I've going through my boxes in the winter, I'll turn lures over looking at the scratches. Each scratch is a beauty mark to me.

If I could take one lure from your tackle box that would be  a contender right there .

That has seen some use for sure!! I had a Cordell super spot with teeth marks from a walleye that I was so sad when it got hung and lost.  Being a bank angler none of my lipless survive long enough to get to the condition of yours!!

Can't really pick just one.

Might be more about the overall goodness . . .

My most "unique" lure, a 1/2 oz green pumpkin chatterbait that had the 5/0 hook bitten in half by a huge softshell turtle when I went to unhook it. I keep it on my desk as a reminder not to underestimate those little buggers.

I don't use that one too often anymore. I need to take updated pictures of it, those ones are about 5 years ago. It's quite a bite more chewed since then.

That is gorgeous! Also how you have them laid out in the box, its very pleasant on the eyes!

I don't know, maybe I'm weird. But these pics like this really are like art to me.

Thanks I like it as well.

However that was a pre-season pick from last year.

Some of those baits don't look so good right about now.

But that's a good thing.

Did you catch any on them? They are really unique looking and have a cool story!

  • Super User

yeah , they catch fish . I havent made any for a long time because about half of them end up  with an air pocket in the nose .

The John Hott cranks I picked up last summer are something nice to look at.  Truth be told, I dont think the fish care as much.  I only fished local streams last season due to life happenings, so I haven't used them yet.

And when you can't find them, shout loud and proud:

Slammer snake!

That is an interesting one.  I've seen one called a Water Witch for muskie fishing that was similar but had more attachments that gave it more of an "accordion" style action.

I can't say that I've ever seen a fish (muskie) caught with it though.  Have you caught anything on the slammer snake?

I don’t use it much, haven’t landed one but I’ve had some whacks on it.
