It would be spinnerbaits for me too. I always threw them but this year I started using the screamin eagle. Game changer for me.

Screaming Eagle is an awesome spinner bait. I also like the dual layered skirt that prevents the need for a trailer of any sort. I've caught a ton of fish on it and some really nice ones to boot.

This year was the A rig.  I hate to rig it, hate to cast it, scared to death I will snag it, but love hanging on for life, when a big bass attacks.

I cannot find a favorite myself. I tried many this year. The Picasso’s I got for Black Friday which I’ve thrown a lot this holiday break are very high quality…. I only have one gripe with them. The head design. It hangs in wood too easily. Booyah Coverts are great also but the swivel is cheap and the quality control on them is terrible sometimes (rusted hooks, split wire). I think I will go back to my roots for future purchases and return to Nichols or experiment with more War Eagle spinnerbaits. I like the bullet head design the most by far. Head design is way more important to me than I thought it would be

This past Fall I've gotten into making hard baits...and that has led to culling old tackle and giving some stuff an upgrade.DSC06849sm.thumb.jpg.b0abac3effb9c4cb7b1f12220a3820b6.jpg

New Bait Infatuation

Nahh!

I do however find a hot color that'll hang around for awhile. 8 months out of this year was white. White Senkos, Speed Worms, Speed Craws, & Z Craw Worms.

Nope.  I tried it one time 2 years ago on a bedded smallie that I could visually see. Didn’t even know what I was doing technique wise but, Caught the bass, released it, and never thrown a shaken head since.

Last year was the inaugural season for Megabass Vision 110 +1 Jr. and it

met and at times, exceeded my expectations; which were admittedly, pretty high.

This time around it's the HD Goby & a Soft Bladed Vibrating Jig.

Get the net !  (I hope anyway)

Also I need to use that DC reel more -

KAESU Extreme Lure Factory

In 2003 Makoto Yanagihara established a company named MIX limited company.

In 2004 After having built the new office at TAKATSUKI city, MIX moved there.

November in 2004 MIX started KAESU brand, the production of own product.

October in 2011 after having built the new office at Johoku town in TAKATSUKI, MIX moved there. September in 2019 After having built the new office at Masago in IBARAKI, MIX moved there.

The situation continues up to today.

Tranquil is a soft blade chatter bait born from Kaesu’s unique concept.
The original PVC blade with just the right firmness responds so well at low to medium retrieving speed.
No unnecessary flashing, flexible, Tranquil spreads reliable pulsation in water and catches cunning big bass that don’t react to regular chatter baits and swimming rubber jig.
The front-weighted head, that limits floating, allows “a slow retrieve that lets you feel the blade vibration” and a smooth trace at the bottom and over the weeds. A new method, the slow rolling with a chatter bait is now a reality.
The test fishing brought a lot of big bass above average, proving Tranquil’s power.
You can also use it in a long trace within a certain range following the blades’ vibration; dragging during strong winds is effective. It works as your wild card, hammering out results in rough fields.
Tranquil’s quiet, life-like vibration and slow rolling will show you a new possibility of chatter bait. Try it and see the result.

I’ve got hairjig fever this winter!

I spent an afternoon fishing a dinky little creek for dinky little bass and had a grand old time of it.  I used to do a lot of tiny water fishing and want to get back into it.  I am looking at short little ajing rods and am clearing space on the bench for a vice.

Ya they’re pretty new I think, late summer or fall they were released. I only found out about them from another member on here in October.

Obviously they’re gonna be in high demand if they’re anything near as popular as the flat worm. I won’t be using mine until next May but since they were in stock near me I bought a couple.
