    Anyone that craps on a suggestion to eat bluegill has never ate bluegill.  There's not many fish that taste better.

Yes.

 

I have an uncle that swears they're the best fish in freshwater to eat though, better than walleye or crappie. He's also got a few screws loose, so take that for what it's worth.

LOL that reminds me of the recipe that my Grandfather always told people for Canadian Goose.

 

Breast the goose, marinate it for 2 days.  Place it in broth with cut up onions, carrots, and potatoes in a cast iron pot along with cow manure.  Cook on slow for several hours.  Throw away the goose and eat the veggies with the cow manure.  Hahahaha

I guess dog fish are used for Fish and Chips in England, from what I've read. I catch my fair share of them, but never thought to take one.

I am surprised every time someone poops on my suggestion to try bluegill. They always say “ why you eating bait? “. Because my bait is delicious , that’s why.

Anyone that craps on a suggestion to eat bluegill has never ate bluegill.  There's not many fish that taste better.

 When I put out a platter of freshly caught & fried up fish,

regardless what  the combination might be;

keeper walleye, yellow perch, crappie & bluegill.

The Bluegill is Gone first - Every Time.

I don’t poop on them but it sure is hard to get full on them . I prefer a thicker fish

You speak the truth . On my wife’s birthday all she wanted was a mess of bluegill. So she caught 52 and I filleted all of them. I thought my hand was gonna fall off, but luckily it didn’t. I needed my little piggies to devour those succulent mustard fried nuggets.

Yeah me and two buddies brought 13 bluegill and a few yellow perch home for a fish fry last winter. Had to spend way too much time to clean a lot of fish and we were still hungry after we ate it all

Mix yellow mustard with siracha  and slather both sides of the fillet then bread with zatarains and drop them in the oil till they turn gold . It’s muey bueno.

Freshwater wise bluegill is and has been my favorite eating fish for a long time...they are fantastic.

Holy Hannah what's the limit on sunfish there?  Sizable sunfish are being so over harvested here that there are now over 100 lakes that only have a 5-fish limit.

No limit here. The only people targeting them are little kids and white trash like me.

That is shocking to me.  They are definitely not a trash fish.  They are good eating.

Minnesota - it depends on the species

 

Daily and possession (means what's in your freezer counts towards the limit)

Crappie - 10

Sunfish - 20

Rock Bass - 30

White Bass - 30

 

Perch is special - 20 daily, 40 possession
