What do you do with a rod that just ain’t comfortable

Hey ya’ll

I have an iRod 704C-H that is really a great rod, but it doesn’t seem to be comfortable with reels I use. I’ve tried a few, but the reel seat doesn’t seem to make it comfortable. I use one of these same reels on another rod I use, and that setup is pretty comfortable. It ain’t a problem with iRods, because two other rods I have are iRods, and both those are comfortable too. They all have different reel seats. The harolds lone star special with a Curado 150 is just blissful. But is it likely that with the 704C, I just haven’t found the right reel for it yet? Or would you guess that the reel seat itself is just uncomfortable? And if that is the case, what would you do with this rod?

Thanks

Sell it and move on. This coming from someone who hasn’t found a rod I don’t like yet for what it’s worth?

Call Matt and explain your issue, he may exchange it for you.

Sell it or trade it.

You could always send it to me. Love all my Irod's.

You could give it to me for a good Samaritan gesture.

Keep buying different reels until you find one that you can live with?

Thanks all.

I will probably go this route. An exchange would probably be my preferred route.

I love em too! This one just drives me nuts ☹️

You could bring the rod into your preferred tackle shop ...explain the situation...then put reels on it until you find one that feels comfortable to you.

Try a Daiwa or Shimano reel on it if you have one.  That rods look like an ecs type seat and those don't like big low slung gear boxes on reels.  Makes you pinch your fingers together when palming.

Sell it/Gift it/donate it or toss it in river ?

I put them in the corner until I find someone to give them to, or trade them in on something else.

Just sell it and get a decent amount of your money back and try something else. The one nice thing with TW is the simple return if you don't like it and try something else.

Can't keep it, worthless if it's not comfortable to fish.

I have issues with Abu Revos not fitting my hands. The shape of them hits a nerve or something near my thumb, can't use them. Similar with small reels like the 50/70 sized Curados. They were too small and I guess I felt like they were going to slip out of my hands so I gripped them really tight and my hand would start to hurt after awhile. Had to go back to larger sized reels and don't have that issue anymore.

I would sell it and replace it. There are plenty of other rods with a comfortable reel seat waiting.
