Seeking crankbait

Featured Replies

Anyone know of a crankbait that runs about 2-3’. Mann’s baby 1 minus runs too shallow and kvd 1.5 runs too deep

Rapala dt fat goes to 3 if you try hard. Big body, wide wobble.
dt4 on 15-17 lb will top out 2-3’.
Tiny OG similar to the dt4

Most 1.5 sized square bills will run 3' or less with big line and a high rod tip. The SK 1.5 comes in a "shallow" version  that will run in the depths you want with 12 lb. I'm really liking the Crush 50, I have some older Daiwas that will wake or run down 2' depending on how they are fished. I don't use a crank in really shallow water often, I prefer a chatter or swim jig most times, but there is no shortage of them.

Hybrid Hunter JUNIOR runs right around 2.5-3.0 feet deep (depending on line you use). The standard HH runs a tad deeper.

The LC DRS and silent 1.5s run about that depth depending on line size and position of the rod.

The KVD shallow 1.5 will get down to about 2ft max if you keep the tip down and grind it.

Fished this bait a lot last Saturday on a very shallow lake, worked very well for me.

Mann's Baby X, it is a Baby 1-minus with a straight square bill and runs between 2' - 2.5' depending on the line. Grey ghost and bluegill have been really good producers and I use them a lot.  Baby X (mannsbait.com)

That’s a great color!  I have that and the Chart Perch.
