Double Bladed Buzz Bait

Featured Replies

Wanting to try out a couple buzz baits as it’s a presentation I haven’t tried much. I’d like to get one with 2 blades as I’ve heard/read you can keep them on top at a slower speed. Any recommendations?

I prefer triple bladed buzz baits...they can be worked slower than the doubles in my experience.

Picasso Buzz Saw is good.

I've tried all sort of buzz baits, and the standard, boring, 2 blade aluminum bladed ones are the ones I've settled on, I just don't see an advantage to the others.

Accent fishing makes a nice one.

thats what I use and I like both but look at the head shape as well, specially in strike king.

Try https://brabecbuzzbaits.com/. I have a couple and while I haven't really used them much yet they are quality constructed and you're supporting a small family run business instead of a giant corporation.

They're all sold out.

Cavitron, slowest buzzbait on the market.

Agree.

You can use a BIC pen and curl the blade tips more or just slightly straighten the blade tips out to make a buzzbait speed up or slow down

Do you think that’s because of the holes in the blade?

No, it's the design ?

Bobby Uhrig & I had quite a few discussions on how slow these bait are.

Ah gotcha. I think I may have thrown a buzz bait literally “a time or two” a decade ago while in high school but that’s been it.

On a side note, I was in a local shop today and while they did not have the double bladed Picasso, they did have the Squealer. I played around with it in my office and it certainly had some squeak to it out of the box, but on the way home I held it out the window and I can really tell it made a difference. It’s in front of a box fan now in the garage but it is definitely getting almost “obnoxiously” loud

You can buy the heads at Lurepartsonline if you want to make your own.

I've fished my Cavitrons side by side against my D & M Easy Roller and Slow Roller(brass clacker). For me the plastic quad blade stays on top at a much slower speed.

I throw buzzbaits on a 5.0:1 gear ratio. Had bass break plastic blades.
