James Webb Space Telescope

The James Webb Space Telescope unveiled its first image today. The camera focused on one tiny spec of the universe and revealed THOUSANDS of galaxies, each containing millions or billions of solar systems and each of those with an incalculable number of planets.

If that isn't awe inspiring I don't know what is.

Imagine the possibilities.

Just think of all the virgin water.

Nice to see Hubble and JWST images next to each other too, and JWST was able to shoot this in 12 hrs compared to 2 weeks for Hubble.  Gonna be a fun ride.

Do you know that scientists now say the Universe we can see with our eyes is only about 5% of what exists?  68% is dark energy and 27% is dark matter.   These same scientists do not know what dark matter or dark energy is.   I think about this when someone who doesn't know what 95% of the Universe is says they don't believe in God.

And to think some earthlings, cannot explain what a women is.

Yet

All through time, people have not known the reasons behind something and ascribed the explanation to some 'hocus-pocus'.

Then later, someone comes along and explains it...dispensing the need for 'magical reasons'.

I'm positive that with the right instruments and given time, dark matter and dark energy will be explained fully.

I am sure they have their best people working on it.  ?

It is very exciting to see these first images.  It’s like your first time on the water with a new fish finder. ?

Ya - I still occasionally haul out my 4.5" Newtonian reflector and take a gander at whats out there.

I also follow several people on Twitter who are at the fore-front of current explorations.

What does Captain Kirk and a roll of Charmin have in common?

When they circle Uranus they are looking for Klingons...

“In this galaxy there is a mathematical probability of 3 million earth type planets.

And in all of the universe

3 million million galaxies like this.

And in all of that, and possibly more

only one of each of us”

You can't get there from here.

Star Trek is just science fiction in terms of travel. The diameter of the Milky Way

is 105,000 light years. Even if it were possible to match the speed of light, there

is not enough time.

I believe the Universe was constructed this way for a reason.  All you have to do is watch the news.

Except - if you get close enough to the speed of light, time dilation kicks in and you could easily reach any part of the universe in your own lifetime. (Einstein special relativity...which has been proven in experiments)

Course Earth time would 'rush' by compared to your viewpoint...so reporting back would be worthless.

If and when we manage to separate consciousness from the physical body, it will be a piece of cake, of course at that point, the insignificance of self and the nature of existence will be turned on it's head, oh wait, no head...

Just learn and start practicing Remote Viewing. You can go and see anywhere. It's great for checking water clarity before arriving at the lake.

That's where folding space comes in.

But first we'll have to get to Mars, Titan, Europa, or Io and then out of our solar system first. I wonder how many other civilizations have said similar things over the eons?

While I believe there is plenty of intelligent life out there, I'm beginning to think that civilizations die off before they develop the ability for interstellar travel.

Perfect example! I see a bunch of stuff, I just don't know what any of it is. :)
