I love this thread. Just spent a few minutes looking through all the old pictures again.

Here are a few of the many small natural lakes around central west Michigan, all between a few dozen and a few hundred acres (with my own anonymous codenames )

What's cool is that so many of these photos are water ringed by trees, but they all look so different.

One of my favorite places to be, Adirondacks.

A buddy and I go up there in June, so much water and so little time, we camp and hit a different lake every day.

It's rare we see anyone else fishing.

A small creek from last summer.  I'm hoping to get back there sometime this year.

Lake Anna Hotside yesterday morning.

Some small creeks, canals and ponds in and around Lake Okeechobee can give you some decent fishing.  Especially during the season when everyone and their fat sister in law is out on the lake.  This is a little connected pond that I typically breakout the ultralight on.

What appeared to be a wad of tree branch flotsam was in fact, a small bowl of wonder!

The only reason I noticed is mama bird flew right up to the nest only an arm length away. She was fearless of my presence. Too bad I couldn't get my camera out in time. She was some kind of Warbler, I presume.

Very interesting nest.  I ask ChatGPT to identify the bird based on the nest.  It said red-eyed vireo or white-eyed vireo

Did the momma bird look like the one on this site?

YES!  thanks so much! Mystery solved. That is one fearless little bird. I could have reached out and touched it.

Just scrolled through looking at everyone's lovely fishing spots. I love the beauty and variety of our country. Some truly incredible looking locations.

True that!

I have used many of these pictures to get copied on canvas as wall art. I have a very large one from DiscoChef in my den. There are several others scattered thoughout my house, garage, gym, ect.  If i'm not careful I'm going to cover up every wall. Our forum family shares the most beautiful places on earth!

My daily spot 8 miles away. I can't wait to get up to Elkhorn creek(45 miles) with the new yak though.

No smallies here but this is home base for me… the best photo I’ve ever taken, already printed on canvas and hanging just inside the door to my home.
