Other Species on the A-Rig?

Featured Replies

I know the a-rig does well for bass, but what other species have you caught on it? I'm considering trying it for the annual striper run on the Hudson in the early spring.

So much fun catching stripers on an a-rig.

PB striper was on it from Beaver Lake in Arkansas.

It's also great for white bass and wipers. I've caught some nice walleye on it too.

Same here. Pike and Musky love it as well. Landing a big Esox with a face full of Bama Rig can be interesting to say the least.

I’ve caught lots of whites and a few walleye on them.

Seeing how the A-rig came from a striped bass lure, I'd say yeah, try it, it might work... :)

I've caught tons of white bass on them.  Slays the schools of white bass.

From what I can tell, it works pretty well for any type of fish that eats other fish. Perfect. Thanks everyone.

Well... That's a new one on the rig!!! Lol. I catch 'em on other baits all the time. My favorite lake is loaded with these snails.

Have you tried rigging it with junebug worms? ?

No because that would result in several 20” smallmouth getting hooked at the same time and breaking all The arms off it

Just to prove all you naysayers who thought me catching a snail on an A-Rig was a fluke wrong, I went out and did it again today!!! And notice, they're both hooked in the mouth.

TEEE.....BILLY!!! Women love me. Snails fear me. ?
