Dirty Jigs

Featured Replies

I've been very impressed with Dirty Jigs during the time I've used them. Them and Outkast tackle are my favorite jig companies

I had not fished in over 2 years due to illness and lack of sight/mobility. While going through boxes of tackle, I found a couple of packs of the jigs. I will surely try them out.

I use the Supreme and extreme Brush Jigs. I’ve only seen one head style from Siebert called “brush” and it’s on several different lines of jigs.

This is the Supreme Brush jig. Easily my favorite. Excels in wood but works well on pretty much all situations.

I use the 1/8oz Gubby Head jig when I want to through small swimbaits. The hooks are sharp but they tend to bend easier than other brands.

I like the ones with the full living rubber /silicon hybrid skirts that I can trim to my liking with the wire tie so I get the Dredge Brush Mata most of the time.  I love setting the hook with the Owner Deep Throat hooks.  Seems to really keep em pinned and I can reel down and pressure set easily which is my preference.

Aren't Dirty Jigs hooks VMC? The No-Jack stuff Is gamakatsu, but I dont know if the hooks will be too thick for a MH rod.

No, Dirty Jigs use Gamakatsu

I’ve set the no jack on a 7’6 MH expride without too much trouble. Reel down/sweep at the waist. I do prefer a heavy though because there seems to be more room for operator error.

There is no light wire hook here, the 5/0 VMC 30 degree hook is sharp enough to stick fish with little effort, but has all the strength of a heavy wire flipping hook.

Lots of descriptions for the different Dirty Jigs on TW say VMC hooks.

I just got some Gubby Heads yesterday and they had Gamakatsu on the label.?‍♂️

All of there flipping, pitching and LC casting jig are Gamakatsu, as well as some of the finesse jigs

They seem to be good jigs but I like the Boss jigs..  I buy two colors of jig heads in 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4. a few 3/8 swim jig heads. and change skirts as needed.  Skirts are lot cheaper than jigs and I can carry every color I might ever need or want, plus a skirt making kit and tabs to make my own.  Same with spinner and buzz baits.

The Boss Gary  Klein Heavy Cover Jig is the best heavy cover jig I've seen.

In the past I used nothing but Dirty Jigs, then I tried some of Mikes jig (Siebert) and now that all I use. He makes really good stuff, give em a try.

Dirty Jigs is legit. They're based out of here in Wisconsin. Good people. Their swim jig heads are also very popular for a reason.

I believe Dirty Jigs was recently acquired by Nichols Lures, which could be the reason for the discrepancy

Dirty Jigs makes good jigs. Siebert’s makes good jigs. Oldham makes good jigs. E-factor makes good jigs. Lots of great options.

I have Dirty Jigs and Siebert's Outdoor jigs - that's it. Both are well made. Perhaps get a few of each, you can't go wrong with either of them.

Sieberts for me.  I always order wire tied.  I also order all my Ned heads, shaky heads, tungsten weights, SK and Missile plastics from Mike.  👍
