3 inch Stiko

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. I do most of my fishing in creeks and small ponds and got a glimpse of those bass pro 3 inch stikos and thought they’d be perfect for the small creeks. My question is has anyone ever used them and any thought on ways to rig them?  I thought wacky rig with a really small hook like you would for a piece of night crawler but not really sure. Thoughts?

ive used them but honestly catch more fish on the 4 inch. i think it just has more action

Yeah that’s what I was worried about which is why I thought maybe rigging them a different way.

I usually use 4" and 6" Texas rigged, but have wacky rigged them both.  I'm sure the 3" would work Wacky if you don't get hung up on rock in a stream.  Smallmouth should love them.  I know exotics in the Everglades would eat them up.

I’ve used the 3” as a Ned rig bait, Texas rigged and wacky rigged. All worked well

I wacky 3" Senko and it is perfect. I think Stik O will do the same.

You should be able to rig them multiple ways with small enough hooks. I purchased some with the intent to throw them wacky rigged on a drop shot. I have yet to do it, but maybe this year will be the year lol

I fish them on a split shot rig, and on a Texas rig.  I've never tried them on a wacky rig.

I’d go to the 4”. The 3” would be better as a Ned rig bait

I use them for smallmouth in the New River. I actually prefer them over the 4”. I’ve used them many ways—light jig head, whacky, Ned rig. All with success. Depends on the water. In very slow current I’ll use them weightless with only a small hook in the head.

The Split Tail has worked extremely well for me rigged on a weedless Ned or just Texas. Brian.

I have some of the split tail Stikos. I have used them on a Ned rig but have not caught anything with them.

I have never cared for the Stick-o. I would get some at Christmas every now and then but had no luck with them but in the 3in size, Ned rigged,  it might not matter.

I have really liked the new GYCB ned senko. They have been dink magnets but they are producing for me better than most. It is early though.

Have used successfully for several years. Texas rig weightless on a 2/0 hook work slowly. I have caught bass up to 3 -4 pounds. Every bit as good as senko and not as stiff as a dinger.

I wacky rig that using #4 wide gap on a 4lb floro..Deadly...

If you are fishing creeks for SM I recommend the Zman TRD Bug. For 2022 it was the best bait for numbers of bass especially SM in the local creeks.

I ned rig 3” senkos when fishing a small river here in Illinois for smallmouth. I keep using it year after year cause it still catches them.

When I ned rig it, my favorite hook is the Bass Pro XPS finesse  offset tungsten Jig head. I love it cause I can rig it weedless.

Dropshotting these wacky rigged are killer. I prefer the yamamoto fat senko action when wacky-ing a 3" stickbait.

Don Iovino Little Sluggers 3 1/2” are hand pours excellent colors and all Don’ soft plastics are being closed out as he isn’t making them anymore!

Last chance is now.
