First boat! Started off in a kayak, now I'm tackling something else. Super excited to take it out for the first time this next week.

Welcome to Bassresource!

Thanks for the technical information on resizing. This is my ride. It's a work in progress. I love the shallow v hull because 98 percent of the time it glances to one side or the other off underwater stumps instead of coming to a stop on top of them like my flat bottom did. I just have to be mindful not to over correct myself when that happens.

The puddle jumper, depending on intended use, have a 3.5HP 4 stroke for it or a 55 pound thrust Minn Kota. Love this thing, can launch it just about anywhere with or without a ramp, can float in 2" of water, run in 4" of water and go anywhere that doesn't have big waves. LOL I use it on everything from lakes to small rivers and honestly, find myself using it more than my Lund. Love this thing...

Very cool.  Surprised to see a Clackacraft in Michigan!  That boat was built about 14 miles from where I am currently sitting.  And trust it will handle some waves.  PNW drift boats are designed for white water.  Whats the exterior color pattern on that one?

You can see my North River drift boat in my profile if you click on the main pic at the top it'll open up.

Cool stuff, I have fished all over your neck of the woods assuming you live near their showroom by the Clack. I picked this particular one up at their other location in Idaho, but it came from Oregon. I actually used to work for one of their competitors, but I dig this particular model, Clacka makes a solid boat and were super nice people to deal with.

That is a skiff, so it really is not designed for waves, not like the rest of their models that have higher sides and more rocker in the front/rear. More like Western tailwaters with tiny chop, small waves and not catching the wind that is so prevalent in those places is truly what this hull type was designed for, very flat, very low sides, works great on most of our rivers in Michigan too so this model is pretty popular here. The flat hull motors well and is light enough I can haus it around to launch it anywhere. I don't really use it for the things it was designed for, hardly ever row it, but love it for off the beaten path pursuits. It's all grey, exterior is the same as the interior with the exception of the webbing. I took out the rear casting brace, put some padding down and it's basically like a giant surf board that I can steer with my hip using a tiller handle extension and the trolling motor, fishing as I go. Doesn't go anywhere fast but a great fishing machine...

Nice ride! There are several here who fish the same/similar platforms.
Love it!

Picks up my 2001 Tracker pt185 about 6 years ago. Has a 90 mercury 2 stroke. It was all original and had barely been used. But it’s old. I added a deck extension so it fishes much bigger. Upgraded the original MG trolling motor to a fortrex 80. Currently running a HB helix 12 msi up front with 2 helix 7s at the console. Just started the new carpet project this fall and got the rear deck done and will finish the front in June. Hoping some day I can afford to go to a pt 195 just for some stability in rough water, more storage room, a quicker ride and To have something newer that doesn’t always need work!IMG_8530.jpeg

The first boat is a Snyder River jet. Specifically designed to run skinny river water. That boat would run in inches of water. 90/65 jet. .195 bottom with 1/2” UHMV.

Last year I sold the Synder and got a new Crestliner 1660 Jon boat with a modified V front with a 60/40 tiller jet.

I decided that I wasn’t going to run as hard in the skinny water. The Jon will probably run in a foot of water.

Picked up my new Phoenix 819 ZXL today. It’s my first glass boat and can’t wait to get it on the water.

Good lord.

This is the best thread on this forum because of posts like this.

I'd probably sleep in that thing for a week lol

Congrats @LonnieP on your new ride! Gotta say from the pics, boat and truck make a very nice looking rig.
