Ned Rigs Anonymous

I’ve caught a grand total of one bass on a Ned. Gross weight about 1 lb.

I've reeled in enough algae to fill the cargo hold of a laker hauling ore to Sault Sainte Marie. Neds and ponds mix like pit bulls and kittens.

Need to go weedless with a little worm hook and 1/16 oz slip sinker

I almost never fish a shakyhead anymore because a Ned catches more and bigger fish for me ?   I've caught a bunch of fish over 5, up to nearly 7lbs on a Ned, and won quite a few tournament d

It does catch fish, but it sure is boring.

No double priced half worms that don’t even fill up 1/3 of the plastic bag for me

The bags are only 1/3 full because they last years. Elaztech is more durable than anything else out there. @Team9nine set a  ridiculous record with elaztech. That alone proves their durability.

Yup. People will pay $5 for a half bag of Lays chips and heart disease. Why not for an absolute fish catcher that lasts an eternity unless you snag.

If you truly want to get over your addiction, come bass fish in Mexico.  Mexican bass lakes, are like Rehab for Ned fisherman.

Double priced half worms under 1/3rd the bag that last 10-20x longer than any other double sized half price 2/3 full plastic out there. Pays for the other 10 bags of regular stuff by the time you finish one bag of elaztech.

I wish bro, I could use a good 2 week detox. All my shakes will just add some action to my ned.

I bet there's some fat mexican bass bagged on lilneds

I see 50 - 60 fish typically per worm with Elaztech over a few fish with plastisol.

Zman nedlockZ is also a good alternative I picked a few up last week and like them already. Stay away from those weedless pro shroomz they aren't that good.

I've caught 90% of my 3 lb + Spots on Neds so I'm not quitting.

Like 1/4 oz or less bullet weight t-rig?

Yes. 1/16 or 1/8 mostly Roboworm or Zoom finesse worm. A Brewer Slider head can be good also.

For those of you who dislike Neds, keep it up.  The fewer fishermen that use them, the longer the fish will keep eating them.

For those with bottom weed problems, I think a solution might be to drop shot a ned.  I haven't tried it yet, but after seeing fish chase neds on the retrieve, and starting a slow swim retrieve before they hit bottom (and it works), I don't think they are limited to just bottom fishing.  I think a drop shot will keep the weeds on the sinker and the ned will be above and stay relatively clean.

For weedy areas, I use a Gammy Finesse Jig Head in 3/32 or 3/16 oz with 1/0 hooks.

I said I'd buy a mold to pour my own Ned worms when I ran out of Elaztech. I have two bags left, so maybe in 2025 I'll get a mold.

If a 7 inch Senko on a 3/8 oz jig can be considered a Ned, than lots of DD caught on Neds here.

For the very fine weeds at the bottom of Lake St Clair this does not work.  It's the head and tie that collect the weeds which may be dead and are like hair.  The only way to keep them off is to keep the jig out of them.

Question:   Is it possible to fish a Texas Rigged Ned on a Drop Shot?

I’m just curious.  ?

Honestly I think soccer is a joke, but great communication on the field
