Long time lurker, first post

Hello everyone!

I live in Northeast Ohio and have fished a lot of ponds from the bank in that area. Started fishing when I was a kid but didnt do it consistently until the last 5-6 years. Since then I have been building my arsenal of fishing rods/reels/tackle. Searching the internet to find what suits my needs.

This summer I decided to get a kayak with a motor and some storage on it. I can carry 7-8 rods when needed too. This gives me the option to fish some larger water and get a new perspective rather than just the bank. Its been a learning curve for sure but Ive caught some fish in the few times Ive gone out so thats a start.

I have mainly been fishing Nimisila Reservoir as its electric only. Much easier for me to learn kayak fishing when that is the case. Open to new water suggestions but mainly just excited to start learning from everone on the forum.

Welcome! :)

Welcome from Michigan! These forums are a wealth of knowledge and fun! (not from me. I'm just here to learn. :D)

Tyler, I'm so glad you got a kayak. Once you figure out fishing from it, you'll catch more bass in it than you catch from the shore. Like you, I'm an Ohioan who grew up fishing farm ponds. You have some of the greatest bass fishing in the world not far from you: Lakes St. Clair, Erie, and Ontario. Of course, they'll take a bigger boat, but someday.

If you haven’t already look at the BR video library and articles,  lots to keep anyone busy and very educational.

You may have already overloaded your skill set with 8 combo’s. Suggest picking just 4 and spending time on the water developing your confidence a fewer choices.

Welcome aboard and ask any question about bass fishing as someone will have the answer.
