The cold the past couple days has skimmed everything over that was open and the water temps are frigid still, but the upcoming week isn't the worst way to be exiting February.  Maybe next wednesday if the wind forecast holds as planned (<5 mph).

The new toy is finally getting a good workout around here. Cleared about 14” this morning before work, and when I got home there’s another 10” ready to blow again. Still more squalls coming all this e

I hope that warmth gets here soon - after the 50s we had last week, waking up to only 9 this morning was a bit of a shock.

yeah, last week was false spring here.  A couple days of mid and upper 50's were great for getting things done around the house.  It was too windy and cold to really fish comfortably but I made good use of the time in getting ahead of honey do's.  We're above freezing, but with 15 mph wind and 40+ gusts it doesn't feel like it.  And, its going to get colder before it gets warmer.  At least we're away this weekend so won't get quite the cold as much (Pittsburgh isn't much better).

We're suppose to get up to 8" of snow overnight In WV. I am  sick of winter!  The end is near though some of our pasture is turning green and the cows have started grazing again.

We only ended up with about 4" of wet snow. Projected to be 57degrees tomorrow...

It’s been really nice in Georgia which makes me happy, but it also makes me wonder what’s the weather going to be like in March.
Historically, that’s been the month that Atlanta gets an ice storm or snow storm that shuts down the city for a week or two.

We got a mere dusting.  Quite a difference from the 5 to 8 inches predicted.  It’s going to be enjoyable to listen to all of the weathercasters backtrack after upping their predictions at the last minute before the storm.

We got a pretty good dumping from Sat night to Sunday afternoon. Strong winds too. By about 3:00 in the afternoon it was gone and the sun came out. 45 min on the John Deere got it all cleaned up. We’re going on our annual guys sled trip at our hunt camp next weekend, so this is the perfect amount of snow for that. After that, it can all melt asap!

Before the sun came out yesterday, it was a good day for hiding inside 😄

It went north of you.

I guess when I first posted this I hadn’t truly checked the forecast for Pittsburgh where we were going to be. About 2 hours into the drive my wife said we were during into a winter weather advisory. A little later it was a warning.  About an hour from home it really started sticking on the roads and got messy. The last mile or two were the worst on the back roads, but we made it with no issues. Ended up with about a foot overnight. So we dealt with 12-15” here for a couple days only to drive into another foot for the weekend.

The two week forecast for my area of upstate NY is showing every day in the 40s to high 50s. It’s been an extremely mild winter. Only a half dozen or so snow “storms” totaling not even 20 inches. March can be brutal with snow, so I’m still cautious, but definitely feeling optimistic.

Spring is getting close in WV! My oldest son and I got the seeder hooked up to the tractor  yesterday and calibrated it.  I let him run it for 2 hrs to get a feel for it and make sure everything was working properly since lat spring. This weekend will be his first test of endurance I'm letting him overseed all the hay fields this year. It usually takes me about 12hrs to do it so he's got his work cut out for him.

I'm not far off of you.  The next 3 days should finish melting all of this snow (sunny afternoons have just been killing it!) and a warm front next week.  Monday might be alright if the wind forecast holds.  Then again I said that about today a week ago.  The forecast was sunny and 45/30 but its significantly colder than that.  The local lakes iced over a week or two ago again (saw a report of wardens writing citations) so even if the sun comes out now I couldn't put the boat on.  Next week looks better and is more in line with the usual start of march start.
