The new toy is finally getting a good workout around here. Cleared about 14” this morning before work, and when I got home there’s another 10” ready to blow again. Still more squalls coming all this e

  • Must be a grizzly scene there today.  Full on panic mode.

well, you MN/WI/MI guys have been saying it but this will make it almost official.  Looks like the warmest winter on record for you northern tier guys. (source:  CNN article)

Yep, I read that the other day too.  El Nino hard at work in the Great Lakes Region. 14 days of 50+ degrees during winter is also a record (the previous record was 9).

Up until last week when we got 5 inches of snow, we were also on pace for the second lowest snow total ever recorded here too.  That 5 inch snowfall moved us up about 12 spots.

I just hope we don't go back into another annual drought this spring/summer.  Also, being how warm it is already in February, is this a sign of what may be coming in the next few months?  I am not really into being 80 degrees by April here.

Dallas is going to hit 90 this week.

You're almost certainly going to have drought conditions this summer.  At a minimum, the snowpack and icemelt contribute to groundwater which you're not going to get.

Perhaps.  But we're actually ahead on total winter moisture because we had over 3 inches of rain on Christmas.  Which would have been about 3 feet of snow.  The ground was definitely not froze yet either.  Heck, most lakes by me were still open the first week of January.

yeah, but that rain is all 'gone' now.  If it was snowpack it would have melted off slowly over the next two months and buffered any delays in rain events.  Now you're going to be chasing storms all summer for any moisture.

More warmth for half the country is on the way, while the western half is expected to see a cool down with above-average moisture.  Its supposed to be 60 degrees here today in southern MN.  After a brief cool down midweek, the temps will quickly shoot back up to 60 again next weekend.  Can you say "spring?"

Same here.  We just had hail/sleeet an hour ago but its about all melted already.  Its going to get cold briefly but I think that's the last of it for us.  The coming 10 days is looking pretty ideal for this time of year.

Supposed to hit 59 today in fargo, loaded the car and headed to a dam south of me with some live fathead minners to see if anything is bitin.

I think there is a big drop in temps coming your way later with possible snow over night.  Maybe that will turn the bite on.  I am going to Grand Forks tomorrow afternoon for a few days.  The low on Wednesday morning there is supposed to be -5!

that Wednesday plan I had might be out the window. The wind was hanging abut 12 mph in the above clip. It’s now forecast at 18 mph at 4pm. I can hide from 12 but 18 is tough. Hopefully it keeps changing and the heavy wind keeps moving earlier

It was 73 here today.

When I woke up this morning, it was 47 and clear skies - right now it's 23 and snowing.

We’re dropping from 60 to 26 tomorrow.  Fortunately it’s from 8 pm to 8 am and I can maybe get out ahead of it.

When I left Minneapolis at noon, it was 42 degrees and sunny.  I drove to Grand Forks, ND this afternoon and it was 2 degrees when I got there, with 4 inches of blowing snow.

I think its supposed to be near 70 degrees in the Twin Cities by Sunday.  That's absurd for early March.

74 today and tomorrow we’ll be under a winter weather advisory. Up to 2” of snow and highs in the upper 20’s.

I tried to warn yall . Same thing will happen in March and April too.

we got 2 feet of snow on March 12, 1993. Yes you read that correctly, 2 feet.

we still have to go thru redbud winter, dogwood winter, blackberry winter, and probably a few more that I’m forgetting 😂

We will likely be breaking the record high today again, but temps will plummet into the 20s by around 7 pm. Absurd.

  • Super User

75, low pressure, intermittent drizzle and sunshine, no wind at all. I get to fish in that all the time.

  • Super User

Yesterday we got the snow - just a dusting really - today we get the cold. Currently it's +6 with a windchill of -11 - predicted high is 20...then 50 tomorrow.

Rollercoaster this week - Sunday they're saying 67, but Monday will top off at 39 with snow and rain
