Texas rigged worm.  It just works.  They tried to ban it when it first came out.  Studies show bass can learn every lure but a worm.   Worm.   If we are gonna be shop talky: Zoom T

Spinnerbait in cover.  Produces bigger bass.

Spinnerbait. I know I can always get bit throwing a spinnerbait in milfoil or pondweed.

Yep, same here -- small profile spinnerbait always gets me something.

I'm like Rain Man counting cards when I'm on the water.

I wish I didn’t identify with this… 🤣

My go to has been a Berkley Fusion underspin with a Keitech fat swing impact.

But now that I just installed Livescope, in a few weeks that answer might be a Damiki rig.

6th sense bone white dogma top water walking bait. I love top water walking baits but this specific one is magic on most of the water I fish.I have 4 other brands that look very very similar in almost the exact same color but nothing produces like this specific one. Runner up would be a jerk bait. I’ve had really good luck with Rapala shad colors.

YMy favorite lure is a hair jig w/ pork trailer if fishing alone and grinned it out, because I targeting big bass.

When fishing with a partner and need to catch bass the soft plastic Screamer* 4” Shad color worm slip shot rigged w/5# UG copoly # 5133 2/0 Owner or 3 1/2” Shad color hand poured Reaper*,  same rig always catches bass where I fish.

3 rd soft plastic choice is a 5” Senko #301 unweighted  wacky rigged, 4107 Owner size 1w/ Sniper 7# FC**, very high % choice worm.

4th soft plastic worm is a drop shot rigged Roboworm 6” MMIII or Jackall Flick shake worm watermelon candy.

* US Baits

** If using 15# Fins Spin braid use 10# Sniper  FC.

Gotta agree with WRB. I'm going with a brown/green jig with a watermelon candy Zoom Z-craw jr. Id rather have a shot a a big one and go home skunked, than just get bites.

It varies, year by year.  But if I had to pick and all time, it would have to be a T-rig worm.  Though most of the time, I'd rather throw a squarebill or spinnerbait.

Zoom's Ultravibe Speed Worm Watermelon Neon with the tail dipped in Spike-It Dip-N-Glo Chartreuse Garlic.

1/8 tungsten weight

3/0 Mustad Straight Shank Round Bend Hook

Berkley Big Game 15# Mean Green

Kistler Helium HE703LMH

Lew's Tournament Lite TLT1SH

Canada craw trd.

Stretch some salt out, slather some megastrike in the last few stretches.

Lightest jig head conditions allow.

Swim it, hop it, jerk it, or dead stick it.

Don't believe the "it just catches small fish" blah blah blah....a large % of 5lb+ fish I've caught in recent years has been due to placing the bait above in the right place at the right time.

Gotta go with a swim jig or chatterbait. Swim it or bounce it and baby, you got yourself a bass.

Culprit Fat Max Texas rigged.

Coppertreuse trd on 1/8oz shroomz.

Darn it! This thread just made me buy stuff!

(now awaits trick worm and fat ika order)

Probably a weightless plastic worm worked through the vegetation.

Wacky rigged green pumpkin magic Senko

Got to be a strike king bitsy bug with a craw trailer. A strike king red eye shad would be a close second. But the versatility of a jig is hard to beat. And being a smaller jig, i find it has a greater percentage of catching fish.

I have found myself hopping a jig with no bites around some cover. Go to swim it back and boom that's when it gets hit. Became a sort of 2 for 1 type of technique.

My number 1 confidence lure is a lipless though. Red eye shad in sexy shad. But that is more one dimensional and situation specific.

Another vote for a plastic worm here.

Not my favorite way to fish, however.

I am turning into quite the reaction lure junkie, however there is no denying the awesomeness of the worm.

North or South, East or West - hands down works year round:

Either a Zoom Fat Albert Grub or a Centipede. Both have saved my day many times.
