I don't have goals as much as habits I want to develop or get back to.

1)  Be prepared

2)  Be organized

3)  Fish with a purpose

4)  Continue to learn by watching videos, reading articles, taking notes and putting what I learn into practice

5)  When I fish tournaments, give 100% effort and focus for the entire 8 hours

6)  Quit worrying and/or complaining about fishing pressure

7)  Make a huge push to get my 11-year old into fishing

I don't think you've considered it, so I suggest scope and minnow.

Can’t agree more, WRB. These past 4 years fishing saltwater with my son has been really awesome :)

In the 90's I had 5 DDs. In the 2000's I had 3. Since then I have zero! Of course, I don't fish as much as I did then. My goal is to stop that streak!

Find some new locations to fish and try and get out there more often.

A bit late for the thread and I have seen some in the past, but what are people's fishing resolutions for 2025? My main one is to find more locations, and minors are to use my baitcast more often as well as taking my family out with me more often on fishing trips.

Do you ever fish at Lake Lahontan?

I haven't fished there for. . . . let's just say it has been a long, long time. The last time I fished there was the week that Richard Nixon resigned as President. I'm laughing as I type this, so everyone else may as well too.

Still, I remember there being some really good fishing there for many species, including bass.

I have visited the lake once so far and it was more of a "Scouting" mission while walking my dogs. I mainly fish from the bank and from first impressions.... I'm going to need to euther save up some money, or get into better shape 😅

I am going to try custom Puff Ball living rubber made on my viper jig. The morning dawn color is intriguing and looking for trailers is a challenge.

Fish More and Catch more fish!

I’ve noticed strength and balance going south last year, which isn’t safe in a canoe, started at the gym last Sept for both. The trick of course is keeping it up, tough to do once fishing starts.

Years ago I made a resolution never to make another resolution.  It's the only one I've ever kept.

Tell me about it . . . . I'm on that road as well.

Hope you can keep it up.

I say it's definitely worth it.

Get out on the water more, learn a different technique, enter a kayak tournament or two.

And we've missed you, pal....good to see some 'old' faces again.

As usual, @Glenn posts a video relating to what we're talking about - I truly believe he's got a vid on ANY subject relating to fishing hiding on his hard drive.

Me: Get Bass Trek in the water this year, last year the hull never got wet.

To get out and fish. It’s been challenging with health issues between me and my wife. I haven’t been on this site as much as I would have liked.

Hit the local creeks for salmon and steelhead. I use to live for it, but got away from it last 5-6 years because so few off days and good bass lakes are a short walk or few minuets drive from home and the creeks are30 or more minuets from home. New department new same job, but now my job gives me 14 days off a month I will get back at it.

I have $1k in rods and reels and OMG$ tied up in spinners and other lures sitting in my basement collecting dust dedicated to salmon and steelhead fishing.

Forgot to add

Promise to myself to start bass fishing ASAP after ice out any day it will remain above freezing. Last year I started fishing 2nd week of March first time ever and did very well and a few not all but a larger lakes by my house had been ice free for at least three weeks by that point.

Spend more time fishing off shore in deeper water. I want use my graph to find some good structure, mark it, return to it, and catch some big ones.

Fishing in the present ~

Moving forward, I plan on working towards fishing more in the present.

I believe each moment in my fishing has meaning, some more significant than others, whether I notice its importance immediately or sometime later.

Making the most of my fishing as it happens,

rather than wishing for the past or worrying about the future.

I think this can & will improve the quality of my fishing

and help me feel more optimistic and prepared to face any challenge.

Feel like I already do some of the above but I'm betting there's room for improvement.

I can admit that being too much up in my own head may distract from my success on the water.
It may be all about balance, seems it usually is.
