I didn't have a way to reach them, so I put it on their FB page.

Hopefully someone can fix it for them.

I know a guy.   He's the one that approved the ad.  I showed this to him, and he said

We are aware of that but kept it intact with the casing like it is shown so folks that aren't as familiar with firearms can connect to the creative concept. We took some liberty to make the idea clearer.

Given the market segments for hunting, shooting and fishing tend to overlap more than just a teeny, weeny bit, that's a bad call.

 

They should have gone with something like a missile if understanding firearms is an issue.

I agree, horrible call.  Just makes them look uneducated.

After looking at the picture @Johnbt posted, gun manufacturers don’t know how bullets work either so I’ll give the fishing company a pass. 😁

But it’s an ad for fishing line. The bullet in this case(no pun intended)is irrelevant to what’s actually being marketed.

I think it's dumb, you clearly don't care.  Neither view matters even the tiniest amount.

I thought we were having a pretty civil conversation but that’s fine. Just didn’t understand what the big deal was.

There is no big deal.  It's an ad.  Ads are often creative, humorous, and entertaining because they're not documentaries.
