Say hello to Maggie.

Maggie is a 4 year old Boxer my wife got yesterday from a local animal shelter. She is the sweetest most gentle dog. After losing our last Pug a few months back my wife has struggled with not having a dog by her. We still have Hank but he’s not the affectionate type. Hank, the cat, and Maggie are all getting along great and even though she’s been with us for a little over 24hrs she’s so comfortable it seems like she’s been here forever.

Congrats on the new pup and good on ya for giving her a home.

Very nice.

My wife jokes that I love dogs more than I do people. Little does she know that she hit the nail on the head. I really do like dogs more than people. Congrats. Glad you gave that precious baby a loving home!

I’m hoping this isn’t flagged as political 🤔 My daughter bought this for me a couple Christmas’s ago. I also love my shelter/rescue organization animals.

Maggie is doing good. She’s still getting used to Hank and the cat. Monday was interesting. That was her first day without us and first time being in the kennel which did not go well at all. We put a camera next to her to monitor and she freaked! Fortunately my work is flexible and I was able to come home. Tuesday we left her out and kept the amount of time she’s without a human here to a minimum until she learns that we are not abandoning her. This was her this morning. I’m home but she’s looking for mom, so there must be some separation anxiety. She’ll get there.

Congrats on your new dog. I'm sure after a time, she'll feel right at home.

Maggie continues to do absolutely great! However, I’m about to leave and take her to the vet to get her spayed. To say the Mrs. Is a bundle of nerves would be a major understatement!

Awesome. Congratulations.

I lost my boxer earlier this year. I got up of the morning to take a leak, and she came out with me happy as a puppy. I went about 25 yards into the woodline, and when I came back she was laying broadside dead as a doornail.

She was 10 or 11. I'd had her since she was 5 1/2 weeks old.

I still haven't found another one. Been keeping my eyes open for the right one though.

Update on Maggie

Tuesday she had surgery to have a mammary mass removed. The first couple days she was quiet and sore. Today she’s been more active and even grabbed one of her toys from her basket. This is her second surgery in five months and we feel awful we’ve had to but it obviously needed to be done.

She’s been a great addition to our family and has been a wonderful dog.

Even though I took her to the surgery, it doesn’t appear she hold it against me. 😁
