  4. Push Workout 2 this morning. My time in the home gym every other day is more important now than it's ever been. For many different reasons. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  5. See now, all this talk about Big Bass makes me reminisce. I was doubtful that achieving my boyhood dream of holding a DD bass could ever be realized unless I changed what I was doing. So many years later I 'made the commitment' to do 'whatever it takes'. As an over the top addicted basshead, there's Nothing, and I mean Nothing Else (at least for me) that compares to hooking, fighting, landing, holding & releasing one these beasts. I thought I knew what it was going to be like. I don't think I have ever been so wrong. If this is important to you and your fishing, make the commitment while you still can, whatever that might be. Still no guarantees but at least give yourself a fighting chance. You'll be glad you did. 10 years ago I caught my first DD bass right before sunset. It was The only Bite I had ALL DAY. Big Spinnerbait, slow rolled deep. https://youtu.be/YtFl-6Whtfk Been able to catch a few more since then. A-Jay https://youtu.be/UYTzJHDCdMo
  6. Glad he's OK and I hope it's his last one. A-Jay
  7. Exactly, how does a person catch really big bass? Isn't that the ultimate bass fishing question? Especially the 'Exactly' part. There's so much just on this site alone that could help, much is confusing and contradictory. Bassheads that make it happen almost always have a system. Sometimes it's different, but not always. The Big fish need to actually be there when you're there. And your approach and tackle must be on task. Still, no guarantees. Put the odds in your favor and you may increase your chances. Like many things, you'll get out what you put it. But here's the kicker, IMO what goes into getting big bass bites often seems wildly disproportionate to how many we actually get. So many folks give up. Good Luck A-Jay
  8. Blood transfusion today. Tough deal. But to those who donate blood ~ Thank You. Something like 3% of people who are eligible to donate blood actually do. That is how valuable every blood donation is. So on behalf of Lynn & I and our families, Thank you for choosing to be a part of the extraordinary few. A-Jay
  9. Seems MLF did their due diligence. Determined which path would effect their bottom line the least. And then march right down the middle of it. Optics be dammed. I get that it's all for entertainment purposes only. But so are The Kardashians and I don't watch that either. This isn't going away. A-Jay
  10. Happy Birthday @Hammer 4 A-Jay
  11. Productive topwater conditions change all the time. Low light seems pretty good. Some wind and or cloud cover can trigger some action. And when you know where & when to look, Sunny, Hot and Flat Dead Calm can be very special . . . . A-Jay
  12. The more 'people' I meet, the more I really like my dogs . . . A-Jay
  13. Legs 2 this morning. Had to dig deep to get this one done. But Gym Rat Rule # 1 is NEVER, And I mean Never, skip Leg day. And I'm no rule breaker #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  14. LC also recently came out with a pointer 158. It's huge. Mexican bass like it just fine. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lucky_Craft_Pointer_Minnow_158mm_Jerkbaits/descpage-LCPT158.html A-Jay
  15. It's The BEST Thing. A-Jay
  16. Thank you all for the kind words and the support. It means a lot. A good White Blood Cell level is usually between 4 and 10.5 x10E3/uL. Lynn's has been low for years in the 2-3 x10E3/uL range. Part of her condition. This morning it was 0.76 x10E3/uL. Hoping the antibiotic cocktail turns this around soon. Both my dogs slept in her spot all night. A-Jay
  17. Thanks you very much for the support. Lynn's handling it better than me. She always des. I'm a train wreck. A-Jay
  18. After several weeks of tough sledding and while battling a couple of very stubborn infections, my wife was admitted to the hospital again today. Past 2 week she’s been seen by a couple of different specialists and despite their & her best efforts, hospitalization is required. Blood work is scary bad even for Lynn, so initial expectations are that this is probably going to be a bit of an extended stay. For reference 7-14 days is her usual admittance duration. This one might double that depending on how long it takes them to find a treatment she responds to and of course, how she actually responds to it. Either way Lynn’s in a good bit of pain so the sooner the better. Besides being deeply depressing, travel/visits include a 3 hour round trip. #quietrides My son & daughter in law were scheduled to visit us for the first time in 3 years next week. Just made that call; Cancelled. The hits just keep on coming. Always hope for good Health. A-Jay
  19. Either way CONGRATS on the new right! You certainly deserve and earned it. And IMO, Made a fine choice as well. Looking forward to pics from New Boat Day! ? A-Jay
  20. It's almost impossible for you not to have quite a bit of sentimental ties with your rig. The work the sweat blood & tears that wending to getting & keeping it running. But face it, it's a Very OLD rig. I bet at lest half the folks that inquiry about the both were born at least 30 years before they laid that hull. Replacement parts are a major concern for that motor. And all that stuff that means so much to you, rarely mean ANYTHING to a prospective buyer. Maybe more like nothing. Owners selling them always fine out exactly what they are worth, the day the sell. Whatever some one is willing to pay, is what it's worth. No more no less. Well, probably less that what the seller that hoped he'd get for it. my advice - take the first offer you get and be done with it. Deep down you know you're not going to 'make any money. If you hang on to it wait for some high ball sale price to come through, It probably never will and you'll either end up giving it away or worse, paying some one to salvage it off your property. How's that for a rosy out look ? Good Luck. A-Jay
  21. For all you fishing knot tying aficionados, there's another option available. Might be under the radar and can be effectively completed at least a couple of different ways. It's more of a an instinctive tie, meaning you just kind of go with the flow. So loops & clinches end up going every which way. In the end you have the Mite knot. Might hold, might not. It's any bodies guess. You know what they say, if you can't tie a knot, then tie a lot. #sheepshanksforthewin A-Jay
  22. ^^^^^^^^ That's just weird dude. A-Jay
  23. X2 For years I thought I was tying the San Diego Jam. Turns out I had the right knot just the wrong Name. The Pitzen with FC is a winner. A-Jay
  24. I got 99 Problems but a hookset ain't one. #borninfifynine A-Jay
