  8. My response is based on the title of the thread and nothing else. I did not read the thread nor do I feel the need to. It's the woman's fault... Seriously though. I think it's a rarity nowadays for people to be married until death do them part. I've been with my "ol' lady" for 25 years. I met her the day I got divorced at my "divorce party" at the neighborhood bar. Set a goal to get 10 phone numbers at the bar. I got 6. Hers was the only one that panned out.

  12. I would add trim it down, trim it up, trim it down again. Leave your livewell doors open when off the water and run the livewell pumps dry for a quick second as you pull the boat from the water to try and bump out any water that might be in the pump.
  13. I prefer the term saddle bags

  16. Alright folks, round 2. We raised $1000 last year that went to www.catchadream.org https://www.gofundme.com/f/2nd-annual-fishmas-giving-back This year we are running the same deal. Minimum donation is 5 bucks, with no maximum, to win $50.00 of Siebert Outdoors custom made jigs https://siebertoutdoors.com/ Shipping is on the winner of the raffle. 100% of your donations will go to https://www.chefnature.org/home Full disclosure. I volunteer annually and my father runs the fishing program. @cadman is also a volunteer. @Siebert Outdoors will do a custom run or a package run...He hasn't agreed to this as of yet I'm sure I'll hear about it later. The raffle will be open until December 25th at midnight. It is exclusive to BR members and is not advertised anywhere else. A little bit about CHEF from my perspective If any of you have tried to teach kids how to fish, you know it can be unnerving. It's also rewarding. The Youth Day makes for a long day. Before that long day, I respool 20-30 reels. Rig some with plugs for practice casting and the rest with #2 long shank Eagle Claw hooks and bobbers for real fishing. The pond is stocked with bass and bluegill. Each station is about 45 minutes in length. We give a short speech about fishing and spend the next 35 minutes is spent unhooking fish and untangling lines. We deal with kids 5-15 who have never seen a fishing rod or have had minimal exposure to the sport of fishing. CHEF also get's into hunting/shooting/bowhunting. I will do my best to make sure the money donated is to the fishing aspect of the charity. Please give us a hand. https://www.gofundme.com/f/2nd-annual-fishmas-giving-back ***AFTER YOU DONATE, PLEASE SEND ME A PM. I NEED YOUR REAL NAME AND SCREEN NAME***
  17. Awesome!
  18. I took my grandson to the Chicago Children's Museum today. They have an exhibit called Treehouse Trails which is about the outdoors. I'd bet we sat in that exhibit for at least a half hour while he was pretending he was fishing. https://www.chicagochildrensmuseum.org/treehouse-trails I'm happy that he was happy. Poor kid is 5 and he'd rather fish with papa than do anything else.
  19. I used to work across the street from Horwath's restaurant at Elmwood Ford, which was shut down by by the feds. Horwath's was the stomping grounds for Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana. He was long dead at the time but one of his hitmen was assonated in the parking lot while I was working across the street.
  20. I've mentioned some stories before. We're living with the Cosa Nostra right now in charge of the federal government. I grew up with this garbage in Chicago. The Italian side of my family was/is police and politicians. My next door neighbor growing up was connected. I was a kid, didn't know any better. Everyone that came by was driving Lincolns and Caddy's. Paul, yep, my name too, was eventually locked up for defrauding the federal government out of millions in school loans. He and his cousin were taking federal school loans and selling diplomas. Student would file for financial aid from the government thru his beauty school and as soon as the school received payment, the student would receive a diploma. Paul's brother Salvatore is a customer at my store. Paul passed away last year. Salvatore owns some rental properties. Maybe connected maybe not, Salvatore came in a month or so ago looking for some zone valves for some properties he owns. We talked. Paul's daughter is a pharmacist and has been for awhile. Paul's son is currently a property manager for the family's investments. My father and mother met Salvatore for the first time in Italy when they traveled there and ended up meeting Paul. I met Salvatore for the first time last year at my store. A house blew up 6 blocks from me as a kid. It was a mob hit. I just never thought anything of it. I was a kid and this is how things were done.
