  1. 12lb mono and up to 30lb for frogs!
  2. Yeah i know a small shop that carries them catt. Have you used both and compared them? If so, which would you recommend? I hear the BMF is a lot stronger and i can tell it has a wider gap in the hook bend. LMK man!
  3. I use a 4/0 for the Chigger Craw and a 3/0 for the smallie beaver. Better hook ups with bigger hooks.
  4. I have a bunch of them but they are not that great! You need to pretty much burn it to get any action from the legs. Also, the hook up ratio SUCKS!!!!!
  5. I can't wait till my little girl(3 1/2 yrs) catches her first bass! She fishes Horny Toads exclusively, LOL! CONGRATS TO BOTH OF YOU MAN
  6. Great photography, beautiful fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Believe it or not, one year me and my bro caught em on bed by attaching a weightless Zoom trick worm onto a live bait bobber then casting past the nest and reeling into it! With the worm dangling in there face they couldn't resist. Sounds crazy but it works(sometimes)!
  8. I think mobydick nailed it with saying they were there due to the wind and prey. I would be willing to bet that there were also some in the trees and brush but they were either inactive or they didn't like any of the lures/presentations you offered.
  9. Since there is no fishing pressure i would figure they would bite anything! I use to fish a private lake in NC and i could basically throw a jig head with no plastic on it and nail em!
  10. Truer words have never been spoken, lol! And practice is the only way you will get better!
  11. I like the regular Senko with the little paddle tail better!
  12. I think it would definitely deliver the vibration quicker to your hands not necessarily stronger/more sensitive. Maybe even resulting in better hook up ratios. But it would only be noticeable if there was a significant difference in rod lengths. Say an 8' rod v.s. a 5' 6" rod, Otherwise, the difference would still be there but not enough for one to notice.
  13. Um,.....I'm comin' too 8-) Count me in as well, LOL!!!!
  14. I agree! I use a Revo 7:1:1 high speed reel for my soft plastic fishing so i can pick up slack quicker. But there are just times when the fish will get one over on you no matter what man! BE ALERT AT ALL TIMES!!!!
  15. 12lb Trilene 100% fluoro
  16. You just never know man! I remember catching bass on them one day after a freeze here in FL(believe it or not)!
  17. I would definitely experiment with the shallowest flooded timber when the sun gets hot. Maybe a split/drop shot finesse tactic?
  18. I fished one made by Gambler that looks identical to that one with no success! They have no action nor do they resemble anything that i could see. But, sometimes that is a good thing huh? ;D
  19. Well maybe i just got a bad one or i was pulling to hard? I have even used the $1 Wal-Mart spinner baits without any issues! I was using a 6' 6" MH/MF rod and 14lb mono btw.
  20. What gear are you using(line, rod etc)? I use my flippin stick for jigs on 20lb fluoro and don't set the hook any harder than i would a worm. No problems yet.
  21. I guess i will have to trust one of those lesser known companies because these things are scarce! Hope they are worth the trouble!
  22. That looks awesome!! I would never pay that much for it though!
  23. It all depends on the technique, lure, size of fish and tackle. For example, if i am flippin heavy cover as soon as i feel the bite i will bully it into the boat as quick as possible! If i am working a crank or spinner bait in open water i will play it a little so the hooks won't tear out. Also, you have to know your tackles limitations. You don't want to "horse" a big fish on ultra light gear.
  24. That's the first thing i do to my frogs after opening them. I either use soldering wire around the hook shank or split shot weights in the belly. Also, i like to throw in some worm rattles for really thick mats.
