I’ll just stay on spinnerbaits. If you have 2 spinnerbait both with the same colored skirt, strand count, length etc. Both spinnerbaits weigh exactly the same. You use exactly the same trailer. Both use a gold small Colorado blade on the arm that are exactly the same size and the spinnerbait head is the same color. The only thing different is the willow leaf blade swiveling on the same exact bb swivel but 1 blade is a size larger than the other, then an only then, you have a different lure. One will fish faster. For that particular day that could be the difference of land or not landing a fish. Alright, 1 more. The same exact jig everything is the same except 1 jig has a 40 strand count the other is 50. You change the rate of fall which could be, for that particular day, the difference maker. JF10

Not sure if it's appropriate to post our - my son and mine - fishing goal, because this isn't bass fishing related goal. But here it goes: We are constantly researching habitats for a new species to target. Last year we wanted to target Little Skate: We know the spot but 2 things worked against us. * 1: I lost all of August because my daughter needed help. I'll always help family when I can. * 2: We need the sea conditions to be just right. We never made it. We had a couple of days but I needed to help my parents.

I had my son fishing with me when he was like 5 but it wasn’t fast enough for him. About 5 years ago he was on the boat with me while I was fishing. He asked if he could try. Caught a fish and hasn’t looked back since Good luck

That’s fair point. I will say when I was pulling my buddy’s boat earlier this fall and he had them on his, it was much easier backing up with them on with an empty trailer

To add to @12poundbass post, it’s recommended by the manufacturer so there a warranty component. There’s also a battery component that turns the generator on which in turn flips the ATS over to generated power. So having the intermittent test you’ll instantly know if your battery is dead. The battery is an important component to the system

The big question is how much power to do want to supply? Whole house with automatic transfer switch (ATS) can be pretty expensive. I have a home on the beach in Maine and I had a dryer that was on a 30 amp circuit. My wife wanted a washer/dryer front load combo that only took a 15 amp circuit - actually draws less. The 30 amp dryer circuit was on the outside wall so I was able to remove the outlet and installed an electric blank over and used the rough box as a junction box so I can put the outlet on the out side wall. I got a portable generator (generac) that supplies 30 amps (7,500 watts) and use that outlet. My house panel is rated for 200 amps - my house is 100% electric. I can't do the whole house at the same time but if I play breaker bingo I can take a hot shower, cook a hot meal on the range and have heat. Those 3 items are my biggest electric consumption. So all 3 have to be separate and still have my refrigerator going at the same time. The Generator takes either propane or gas. A propane tank the size you would use for you outdoor grill lasts 6-8 hours. I forget the gasoline capacity but will get that for you if you need it. My total cost for: 7,500 watt generator Power wire from the generator to the house Generator cover Outlet covers - 1 blank and 1 weatherproof cover 1 specialty outlet 3' of 30 amp rated wire - I think #6 x 4 conductors 1 Interlock for the panel 2 hours electrician time less than $2,000

Glenn, I never seen this video but when I started using side mirrors when I learned how to back a trailer, it was a game changer. Great point you made.

I didn't clear coat but @newapti5 mentioned in a few posts up that he would add a couple of coats of clear on it. As far a how it's holding up, this is the first time I've ever done this sort of thing and I just finished over the Thanksgiving break. Well, almost done, I think I'm doing a couple of small parts this weekend

cadman, your ears must be ringing. I was about to reach out to you regarding another winter project you’ve helped me with a few times. Keep your ears on bud. So in prep I used this to clean up and actually help soften the old paint a bit: I used a scouring pad to roughen the old paint. Basically took the sheen off the old paint. I used as an alternative to steel wool or sand paper: After sanding I clean the parts with goof off. Actually did it multiple times. After each goof off wipe down you’ll see the areas that needed more sanding. The sheen you’re trying to dull I tried to make it a uniform dullness if that makes sense. Paint - 2 light coats The color I used is cherrywood. The one I’m posting here is from an image search. Let me know if you need more info JF10

1/8th oz gets tricky. They’re so light that you could find them swimming on their side with the added weight. Maybe try adding a 3 or 4 longer strands of skirt material to create the trailer. Otherwise you’ll find yourself playing trailer bingo trying to get the weight right.

I'm of the same thought as @Alex from GA. If the part is significantly cheaper, then I will use it on an older rig. Although I support using OEM. I just need to be fiscally responsible tho. My boat is turning 5 so I still opt for straight up replacements. Good luck

My son was 4 or 5 when I taught him how to baitcast. I taught him on a cheap Zebco 33 spincast and 1/4 oz bullet sinker. I put 4 plastic rings in the back yard and told him to cast to each marker. I told him when he thought he was getting close to the ring marker, apply pressure to the thumb bar and let the sinker drop and follow his rod tip down with the falling sinker. He learned how to thumb feather the thumb bar when his cast was too strong. It was an economical way of learning b4 investing a ton on $$ but he got really good at baitcasting.
