Your idea of light for rod/reel?
Balance is negated the higher you position the tip of your rod during actual fishing. The overall weight of the rod/reel comes into play more if say your tip is pointed high like / Balance will show itself more the closer to parallel you get, holding rod straight out --- So if bottom contact fishing with tip high balance isnt going to be as important as lightweight combo. Sensitivity is effected more by weight and stiffness than balance. The lighter stiffer you get the more sensitive something is.

2016 St Croix Legend Elite
They did have one piece but those went first I would like the 7'6" M/F 1pc elite spinning in a casting version.

Externally adjustable centrifugal brakes
Small cranks dont have much resistant so the need for low ratio and the power you gain isnt as necessary. The smaller/lighter spool will have a greater effect on the casting abilities along with the rod and the user. So the 70 should be better than the 200 for smaller cranks

New Baitcasting rod
Okuma Helios 7' MH/F is just 3.5oz has power quick crisp blank excellent sensitivity and good balance works well with anything over 3/8 in weight. Can be found around $145 for a bit of savings. I have LTB Cumara Crucials in the same MSRP range and the Helios holds it own against if not bettering them. $137.72 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Okuma-Helios-7-Medium-Heavy-Cast-Rod/34742965 And if not what you like very easy to return it

Ned Rig Mushroom Head Weight Question
I have shroomzs 1/20-1/10-1/5 weights I weighed my trd's and they range 3.913-4.331grams so any combo will work well with a good baitcaster, SV105 throws them nicely. ill use lighter when they may be hitting on the fall Go heavier to get to bottom of 20'+ lakes then hop them back

Site UPDATE Annoyance...Back to new content PITA
I have the same annoying issue as you. Go in a thread and when back out goes to top of posts instead of where you entered Plus it doesnt actually show "just" the posts since last visit but keeps loading more activity. If I leave site for 3 hours( and say 30 posts where made) and come back it should show only those 30 posts but it doesnt work that way now, it used to with the old site. Ive resulted to marking all posts read just before I leave so when I come back posts freshly made are BOLD

Max casting distance of average joe???
the following catches were made with a maximum cast of that particular lure all easily past 100', wouldnt have caught them throwing just 100' Maximum distance with senko thrown with spinning reel Maximum distance with PalmTree bc reel Maximum distance cast with keitech paddletail hit after just about 5'-10' retrieve. PB as well so to me it is a factor

Trolling motor 55 vs 80 lb thrusts
I have a 55# on my inflatable that is 12' size. I say if your back can handle the 2 batteries of sufficient size go 80#thrust route. Im now thinking of going 2 batteries (size 24) with my boat. I want the smaller size battery for less weight that i have to lift at once, a 40pound battery is easier on my back than a 60pound battery. I had a 14' jon and think it could handle 2 batteries easily A single size 24 bat with 55# thrust doesnt last as long as I would like. It scoots ok full tilt but sucks battery. I go on 40-300 acre size lakes Here my boat

Daiwa finally lost it
And depending on thumb placement it could be hitting the thumb or lower part of index finger. The line guide on the SV105 sticks out some and at times with my thumb across the top it gets hit, see the same happening here.

Sunline Super FC Sniper Fluorocarbon, Opinions ?
Depending on presentation I think 12# is too stretchy, otherwise the line has worked very well for me. Strength is there, management is there, havent even used line conditioner. Ive upped to 16# as well hopping to negate some stretch.

Numb or dumb?
I think everything is overpriced for what you get in reels and rods. My $70 Pinnacle hangs with my Core performance wise the biggest diff being weight and under 1/8 but any other weight and its a close competition. Rods I do notice gains on higher end rods but $100 ones aren't slouches. No right or wrong really each person will like/want/desire something different in a product.
