  1. I decided to try a Daiwa Revros this past year because I found it for about half price. It's a super smooth reel and feels very connected and the drag is as smooth as the retrieve. Previously had not liked the Daiwa spinning reels I tried but this one has me thinking otherwise.
  2. Some chewed jerkbaits. L2R; 97MR Slender Pointer, 3 78 pointers, a custom painted 110 blank.
  3. Probably still be a jerkbait bite by that point in the year, as well as some fish hitting spinnerbaits or flukes worked around the sides and ends of the docks.
  4. I have it on probably a dozen rods and really like it, especially for the price. I've got spools of 10, 20, 30, and 50 for various uses.
  5. I carry an Rtic 64oz bottle with water on my kayak then just carry a cheap soft cooler with a couple ice packs for my sandwiches.
  6. Mine was Olathe Lake. It was 10 minutes from my house but I didn't fish it often because it usually beat me. First trip there I got skunked. Every time I went for the next few years, all I hoped for was 10 fish to be successful trip. Eventually, I figured it out and now catching 20-30 isn't uncommon. I tried to make the fish in the lake do what I thought they should be doing instead of listening to the few fish I was catching and making adjustments.
  7. I find a sidearm cast and keeping it low to the water seems to reduce the helicoptering. You can't really try to launch it, just make a smooth, controlled cast and it does pretty well. It's just the way the bait is balanced, no way to completely eliminate it. It's such and effective bait that I don't mind a minor issue like that though. Cut off was about 48 degrees for me when I stopped getting bit on it. Everything above that was fine though. The 5" Shine Glide is the best gliding small bait I've fished, but do yourself a favor and get the 7". Once you're catching 1 and 2 pounders on it, it becomes obvious that it's not that big of a bait to the fish.
  8. Berkley Skinny Cutter, Lucky Craft Pointer 78 and 100, and the KVD 300 would be my picks.
  9. Booyah popping pad crasher in cricket frog color.
  10. The 7" in bone is what you want
  11. Cassidee is not impressed with the slick deck and sharp grass.
  12. Trees popping everywhere under the weight of all the ice yesterday.
  13. Bill Babler, Pete Wenners, and Eric Prey would be some good ones to contact. Pete and Eric both do weekly fishing report videos and share great, up to date information.
  14. The Deps 250 has a really wide glide with the provided ring.
  15. The window has pretty much closed I believe. I tried to sell some XRK50's in Rayburn red for 15 each and got no takers.
  16. The 5XD in green gizzard shad is my favorite deep crank other than a wart. The 3XD in green tomato has kind of a cult following on Table Rock and I can attest to it's effectiveness there.
  17. I prefer the Strike King ones because they have the solid head to help hold the hook. I just use an EWG hook.
  18. I prefer the 1 knocker or 2 tap. Booyah (formerly Xcaliber) makes my preferred 1 knocker Strike King makes the tungsten 2 tap that is my other bait of choice.
  19. Predator baits has some of the best blanks I know of.
  20. Ordered a set of Ultimate Bunk Boards for the trailer on Monday. Had them on my Roughneck trailer and liked them. Very nice for unloading on shallow ramps common on little lakes and rivers. Tried my hand at a camo paint job on the boat after watching several Youtube videos, turned out pretty well for my first time doing it.
  21. About half the days each month during the warmer months, 6-8 days a month during the winter months unless the weather is really cold or unseasonably warm.
  22. One of my main baits in cold, muddy water is a 1/2oz spinnerbait, white or chartreuse, with tandem Colorado blades, a red or orange front blade, and a big #5 or bigger copper or painted main blade. I'll usually put a bulky trailer on it also to allow me to retrieve it as slowly as possible. Run it by any kind of cover, multiple times by likely holding areas.
  23. Welcome!
