Glenn's trolling motor comparison video
I'm guessing for warranty purposes brackish and salt may be classified the same. I'd definitely check with the manufacturer for sure. SE Kansas grass grower

Glenn's trolling motor comparison video
I think these new motors, as well as some of the new graphs aren't for everybody. There are a lot more Chevrolets sold in the world than Mercedes. They all get you from point A to point B, some just have more comfort features. Toxic, the current Garmin is not to be used in saltwater either. I would bet there will be salt water versions from both in the future. This is not something I'm aware of, just speculating. SE Kansas grass grower

Glenn's trolling motor comparison video
That video on the home page is pretty good about comparing the three new trolling motors. They all have some cool features. I will admit that I am biased toward Garmin but I was really surprised at how noisy the Lowrance one was. I really expected it to be fairly quiet. The Garmin (and I'm sure Lowrance) does draw a lot less from the batteries. I like having 20 speeds to choose from. The first prototype only had 10 speeds and speed 1 was too fast if it was dead calm. If you start it on any of the upper speeds, you better have it pointing the direction you think it is or you better hang on or you could get wet. I've gotten a little over 3.5 mph on an 18.5' Triton with the motor down on 24 volt. SE Kansas grass grower

Real time Live Sight sonar
I'm not exactly sure how all that worked out. I think they both decided the only people coming out on top of the lawsuits were their lawyers. SE Kansas grass grower

Real time Live Sight sonar
I am sure all the mfr's are introducing similar technology that changes the future bass fishing. Tom Yea, Garmin's had this technology for at least 4 years. SE Kansas grass grower

I would guess plankton or pollen. But that's just a guess. SE Kansas grass grower

Garmin Striker Plus 4 confusion over GPS features
Not really a step backwards. It's an entry level fishfinder with a really good picture and the ability to mark way points, etc. SE Kansas grass grower

New Technology: Whats your favorites?
I am a believer in Livescope forward. I very seldom use the down. I can't tell you the number of bass I've caught that I wouldn't have because I saw them in a brush pile I didn't have to run over first, or on a hump or drop off where I would have had to go over or go by them and then go back to fish. I've watched bass react to my lure (frustrating at times), and also watched them react or not react to the boat/trolling motor. I've also caught numerous bass in cedar trees around here. If you pull up to one you can most generally see if there are any bass in the tree. Not only that, but you can see how far below the surface they are. Schooling bass is another story. When you see bass popping the surface and you put the trolling motor on high to go over to them and they aren't there you can pan the area with the transducer and see where they went. You can identify them as an example, 6' under the surface, 45' out, at 11:00 oclock. I can't imagine bass fishing without Livescope from here on. I truly believe it is much more than a toy in forward. To react to the original post: Obviously trolling motors are going to be a hot topic at icast. It'll be interesting to see what else is revealed. It's only money!!! SE Kansas grass grower

Inexpensive bow mount finder
Garmin Striker 4 is about $120. You might want to look at something used to get a bigger screen and options. SE Kansas grass grower

Bow graph recommendations.
I would go with the 93sv Plus up front. If for no other reason you can add Panoptix or Livescope in the future. SE Kansas grass grower

Garmin LiveScope Installation Suggestions
I've had mine for a year now on the trolling motor shaft. In heavy wind or heavy current it is difficult. But in 99% of the time I'm fishing, I wouldn't move it. I bass fish only in inland lakes. The black box is in the port side rod locker. Everybody has a different approach to what is best for their style of fishing. Good luck! SE Kansas grass grower

Garmin maps question
On Garmin's website it says it's compatible with the 93plus unit. Possibly a pirated version and the plus models recognize that it isn't original Garmin maps. IDK SE Kansas grass grower

CV vs GT garmin transducer
I currently run both transducers. All in all there is very little difference at 20' or less (which is 90% of my bass fishing). The CV does not have a dedicated down element, just the two sides that meet in the middle whereas the GT has the two side elements along with the dedicated down one. For most of us in a side by side comparison it would be difficult to see much difference between the two at this depth. Deeper, I don't know. I've heard the GT is much better in deeper water. For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Went to Wolf Creek yesterday and there were only 8 boats when I got there about 8:30. Another 5 or 6 showed up before I left. Pretty tough for me. Nothing at the outlet. Went north and caught two LM, a huge crappie and got into some wipers at the bridge (8). Still better than not going. SE Kansas grass grower
