Sounds like a familiar pattern. I'm 59 and retired. I still get out a few days per week and prefer my kayak over my boat. There are only a few lakes in Massachusetts I can launch my boat in. I fished with @Fishing Rhino a lot when I got back into the sport in 2012/13. Tom was always generous with the back seat of his Nitro and taught me a lot. He's in his early 80's now and has dementia so doesn't drive and can't operate his boat. He lives an hour from me but I still call him fairly regularly and try to get him out on his boat to fish a couple times a year. I'm in good physical shape and hope to fish well into my 70's, but I find the cold affects me more. I'm also not always motivated to wake up at oh-too-early to hit the water. We'll see how it goes, one cast at a time.

Yep, it sure does, but it’s got the 5.7L V8 that might just outlive me. It also gets better mileage than my ‘68 GS400 …

Since @A-Jay beat me to the gas card joke (my Tundra gets 14 mpg W/O towing my boat), I wouldn't buy a rod OR reel. I might push myself to buy another Kistler Helium and Shimano reel, but I really can't justify it. Truthfully, I'd be inclined to invest the $500.

I use Rod Socks and TW reel covers when my rods are stowed and am just as careful with my gear as reasonably possible.

Yes, I know the three ponds I fish the most very well and only get skunked in the winter when the kitchen's only open for a short time.

Almost anything in my possession. V110's, Rapala PXR Mavrik, and Berkeley Stunna's top the list. I'll start using Lucky Craft Staycee 90 extra deep now that the water is in the low 40's.

Battery powered hand warmers.... I also use Milwaukee M12 tools, so naturally I have their heated clothing ... AKA hoodie .... ALWAYS wear your PFD and keep a change of clothes in your truck too.

No snow for me yet. The ocean had a little skim ice on it this morning. It was gone by 1000.

We have Coyotes in the city I live in. The last cat we lost to them was caught on my front door camera going down our driveway after two of them. Turns out there were three. It didn't work out for Princess. She was a tough old girl and would chase dogs off the property 😔.

I'll see Bald Eagles a few times a year in Canton, Plymouth, and Cape Cod. I saw a mink the other day in Plymouth. That's about it for rare animal sightings, unless you consider bass in November, which are pretty rare up here this time of year.

I went back to Plymouth yesterday and redeemed myself at one of my 'regular' ponds. I picked up one LMB, one pick, one white perch, and one yellow perch (sounds like a remake of 'One Bourbon, one Scotch, one Beer'...) on an Ito Wasakgi V110+. I hooked onto what I assume was a good SMB in 40' of water with a gold/black Damiki Vault that let go about half way to the kayak. I marked most targets on the bottom in 30-40' and found a couple bait balls in the Southern end. I threw an A-rig for the first time, hoping to pull something out of the bait balls, but nobody wanted to play. Water temps were 46.x, air pressure 30, and the rain held off until about lunch time. I also saw a mink in the canal that joins the two ponds and a couple of loons that were doing loon things.

I fished a pond on the Cape and another in Plymouth today, and came up empty at both. Water temps were 45.x on the Cape and 44.x in Plymouth. Both ponds were as low as I've seen them in a few years.

I use it on all my corked rods.

You'll likely find power under your TM pedal tray. Remove the tray and you'll see what type of connectors you'll need.

I tried a couple different size Bandito Bugs. That was it. They didn't do anything for me or the fish.

They have different handles and guides. I use Helium & KLX almost exclusively. Drop Kistler an email and ask yourself. They're good about replying back.

I have Lowrance FS12, Active Target, and Elite Ti2 9" units on my Ranger. They're powered by my house battery. I ran my own 8 gauge power/ground. It works just fine.

You'll be fine as long as you leave a service loop allowing the trolling motor full rotation.
