  1. I’m extremely bummed that de minimis is now non existent for all countries. Order a reel from Japan and now you’ll have to pay $80 in duties.
  2. I believe Japan orders under $800 will now be hit with an $80 charge based on the way the EO is worded. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. edit: so even a $20 lure purchased by itself will get $80 bucks tacked on.
  3. Those look beautiful. You should consider selling some. 🙂
  4. I use 25lb tatsu fluoro for jigs/T-rigs. Even for flipping, pitching and punching, and I’m in Florida fishing thick stuff! For me, the slack line sensitivity that fluoro has is a big deal. I just don’t have the same confidence with braid. With braid, any slack in the line while you’re working a jig/t-rig makes it so I feel like I can’t feel the bites. It makes me feel like I’m missing bites and kills my confidence. Edit to add: I do use braid for frogs.
  5. Ohh I’m excited to hear how this goes. Can you take a picture of how you rig it? What size hook do you even use with that?
  6. Wouldn’t using braid with treble hook baits be a bad idea? Do you use a moderate action rod?
  7. I have the champion extreme 745 and I throw 3/8-1oz Texas rigs and jigs with it. 3/8oz is probably what I have tied on over 75% of the time. It’s a great rod. Quite versatile with a soft tip but enough back bone that you can horse fish out of thick cover easily. You can use a 1/4oz T-rig as well, but I would consider that to be the lightest feasible option for it. I’d say if you plan on sticking with 3/8-1oz most of the time, with 1/4oz sometimes, the 745 is the way to go. If you plan on using 1/4oz a lot and rarely use 3/4oz and up, I’d say go with the 744. Just my opinion and ymmv. Hope this helps.
  8. 16”? Jeez! That’s massive!
  9. I honestly don’t see a point to this. I’m sure it will catch fish, but I have my doubts it would catch more than a standard spinnerbait. A lot of companies make the wire a selling point of their spinnerbaits. Whether it’s very thin or whatnot.
  10. I’ve had a similar experience with the zoom ol monster. I’ve caught a few bass where the worm was longer than the fish! Bass can definitely be a bit over ambitious!
  11. See, that’s exactly what I thought. I hate being wet and sticky when the humidity is through the roof.
  12. Really? Interesting. I would think the cotton would just get wet and stay wet vs wicking the moisture away and evaporating when it’s especially humid. I’ll take your word for it though! P.S. I’ll take your subtropical climate and raise you my tropical climate. 😁 just messing around.
  13. Sweet! I plan on getting one for weightless senkos/flukes and light T-rigs and free rigs. Sounds like it will be perfect for the job. It just throws me off that it’s a heavy!
  14. Not when the humidity makes it feel like a sauna.
  15. That’s what I figured. Thank you!
  16. So how do companies make tungsten weights? They buy them pre-made and repackage them?
  17. To piggyback off of the OP, I’ve always been curious how much of a difference length really makes for casting distance. Can you really tell a difference in distance with a few extra inches?
  18. So you all say the X-bites would be a great weightless 5” senko/fluke rod? I still can’t get over the fact that it’s rated as heavy. I feel like I need more assurance. 🤓
  19. Not to get political but this is interesting. The good news is there is a court case right now about the Presidents authority to impose tariffs using emergency powers. According to the AP, the judges seem poised to rule against the President. That would hopefully get rid of the tariffs and also the executive order getting rid of de minimis. In other words, hopefully these tariffs will go bye bye and de minimis will remain in place.
  20. Question: how do you produce your tungsten? Is it like lead where it is melted down? Do you buy tungsten bars and melt it down? If this is a trade secret I understand. I’m just curious.
  21. I have nothing nice to say so I’m going to say nothing.
  22. I’ve had issues with those as well. The internal weight transfer ball will get stuck and you have to shake it to get it to move. They don’t work when they’re like that.
