Need a new Senko rod - Considering a St Croix Mojo Bass medium-fast 7' spinning rod. Your thought?
agreed, never said premier was better than mojo. it's definitely better than bass x though, they dont even clear coat the whole rod on those. premier also comes in way more length/power combos than mojo. I own both personally I'd never buy an avid. I'm looking forward to the victory rods in that price point

Premiers are made in Wisconsin with SCII graphite. Premiers are better made than the Bass X which are also SCII and made in Mexico.. Mojos are made in Mexico with SCIII, so they are a bit lighter. Premiers are not technique specific like the Bass X and Mojo bass. I find Premiers are better all around/multipurpose rods than the Mojos. Bass Pro and Cabelas have exclusive split grip Premiers that will be on sale for the spring classic starting at $99 with a trade in/$119 without. St Croix also has a new series called the victory coming out which are similar to but probably only slightly better than the Mojo. They are made in Wisconsin.

In search of a "true" medium spinning
St Croix Premier medium fast would be my suggestions. very versatile

Rod suggestions for finesse swimbaits
St Croix makes a 7'6" MLXF in several rod series. Mojobass, Eyecon, Avid, Legend walleye. There's also an 8'6" MLXF in the legend bass series. Or wait to see if they release something new in the Victory series.

Power Pole Micro
1050lbs is probably just your hull weight. need to add weight motor, batteries, fuel, passengers, gear...

New St Croix rod
a little long for wacky IMO. I'm considering the 7'3" MXF for boot tail swimbaits and grubs, maybe light t-rigs too

I like a shorter rod for wacky. 6'6" MF Premier is what I use. You can pick up a split grip premier on sale from BPS or Cabela's during the spring classic

New St Croix rod
I only buy from their website when they have a closeout deal

New St Croix rod
Park Falls was closed for a while last year, not sure about Mexico. I'm sure dealers bought up all the stock available. I bet their direct online business makes up a very small percentage of their total sales.

Kayak deals
the Teton is the same kayak with a stadium seat already on it. It goes on sale often at Dicks and you can use coupons on it too

Lifetime Teton is probably the best in that price range. But I'd look at the used market too

Best anchor for jon boat?
stake out pole or a downrigger weight. mushroom anchors pull up too much crap. 8lb weight should be plenty. around $20 on amazon Extreme Max 3006.6729 Coated Ball-with-Fin Downrigger Weight - 8 lbs

I'm shocked Ryan Pace didn't trade Foles and multiple first round picks for Wentz.

New St Croix rod
I'm really excited now because the spinning reel seat looks identical to the Eyecons that I love

New St Croix rod
local pro just sent this out. also said you can only get them through local dealers for the first few months.

New St Croix rod
Victory makes sense, they kept mentioning wins in the previews. Avid rods are not species or technique specific, they wont get rid of those and upset walleye and multi-species anglers. I could see them getting rid of the Avid X though

New St Croix rod
I still use my Rage rods on the kayak. nothing wrong with the casting models, but yes the spinning rod reel seats are terrible. the current SCIII Mojo Bass took the place of the Rage albeit with cork instead of neoprene handles
