Favorite stickbait brands, sizes, and colors?
Sweet....I picked up a few bags of chartreuse pepper senkos at academy on clearance. Wasn't sure how I was going to use them...

Great rods...not sure where they get 'slow' for the taper...it's fairly vetsatile. I wanted a second one 'in the future', but JLS has them in stock, so I had to act.

I picked up.a couple of frittsides in that HD threadfin color...they look amazing. I'd google past tournament results for Lanier during the month you'll be fishing it. Just one of the steps I take before I prefish a new lake.

Sweet. I'm strongly considering that model. I received another Kasumi 6-11 today...already caved on my 'no purchases for 6 months' resolution ???

Berkley pit boss
I didn't start fishing the pit boss until last year. They look better in hand than the TW picture. Bass crush them...

Berkley pit boss
Those and 'skeet's hot craw' are my go-to colors. Been fishing the Big Texan color in the 5.2" beaver for almost 20yrs....it's the shizz.

Fishing kayak worth it?
I'd put my $400 towards a Pelican Bass Raider or Bass Hunter boat. I wouldn't want the lack of stability or the limited ability to work baits while seated.

Opinion on reel condition
Keeping reels and rods pristine has nothing to do with how hard you fish them, and everything to do with your habits before and after use. I am always mindful when setting my combo down on the ground or deck, and I don't let combos rub each other. I cringe when I see folks use the reel's hood as a bait keeper. If you want to use your rod's bait keeper, a piece of electrical tape will prevent blank scratches. I use a quality quick detailer (Meguiars) on my rods, reels, and line.

Speed Craw on a Shaky Head
I use the chompers 'rock walker' jighead. I gave one rigged up to a guy and his 4yr old son at a local pond, and 5 minutrs later he hooked his PB of 4.5lbs.

Short Arm Spinnerbait
Some dope left a review ripping on the Zorro bait, saying it had a 'strange and unneccesary' weedguard. Lol ?. You can only hope guys like that enter the same tournaments as you do

I picked up 30 or so packs of the short shank ewg trapper trebles. They appear to be high quality, very sharp hooks. I even left a review on TW telling folks they should take advantage.

Had to make a trip to walmart today, and for the first time in years, I was able to grab some clearance baits. $.75 yum finesse worms/creature hogs, $1.50 Googan rattling ned worms, and $1.50 DT10's in 'old school' color.

Short Arm Spinnerbait
I use the Zorro Aggravator....it is weedless and works amazing in cover. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Zorro_Baits_Short_Arm_Aggravator_Spinnerbait_/descpage-ZSAA.html

Show off your Stuff

My order finally came on 12/27 (most of it anyway). I damaged my sniffer in an accident, so I don't smell very well, but I didn't notice the heavy garlic smell that grandebass is known for when opening my baits. It doesn't upset me...I picked up some gulp! craw juice during the pure fishing sale ?

Looking for a shorter MH
I own rods with an inflated lure rating, but that is remarkable. Megabass claims the SD will handle 1.25oz.

Barbless and single hooks: thoughts?
I have thought about going barbless on my trebles. I lost a good portion of my eyesight in an auto accident about a decade ago, and deep throated hooks make me nervous.

Shallow, lightweight spool in Daiwa Fuego CT?
I have the Ray's long cast spools. I wanted a fairly shallow spool, but not bfs. They weigh 11.2g's.
-
Rattles in Plastics
I use rattles, and feel it gives me an edvantage in the stained waters I fish. I use small, medium, and tube rattles (glass).
-
Steez SV
I have a couple, but mine are 6.3 gear reels that I use for small cranks. I think the gears would hold up if you wanted to use it for heavier applications, but it wouldn't be what I'd choose.
-
Peanut or Wreck Jr?
Get both! I think the peanut= WEC Mutt, which is a 'hall of fame' bait IMO. They would both be excellent post spawn/bluegill spawn cranks.

Baits that work for you that others have not heard of?
For sure. I found an old box in the attic from when I was a kid. It contained Culprit and Gillraker worms, as well as salt craws and guido bugs. Those little craws are Larew 'tiny salt craws'. I bet some of the last in exsistence.
