I am not a great angler by any means but at 70 years old I have learned a few things. This year has been my best year ever. I have thrown 2 different lures just about all year, a worm (Senko and finesse worm) and a crankbait, about 4 different ones, different colors on both. I have fished shallow water all year and the worse I have done is 3 fish ( wind nearly blew me off the lake). I have also limited my area to the lower end of lake, mostly in a marina and a bay. I will continue through the winter, same places and same baits ( probably throw a jig some) and I bet I still catch fish. I guess what I am trying to say is you don't have to have a boat load of lures and run all over the lake to catch fish. Buying new lures sure is fun though.

I have been using a medium power rod with fast action rod about 4 years. Tried the ML and it was not for me. I only throw 1/16oz jigs with no problem. I am using 10# braid with 7# sniper leader. I think Ned also uses some medium power rods.

I fish a lot of rip rap and I have done real good with a Bandit 100. You can see some wear on the bill but I have never broke one.

Have you bought any lately? I bought some about a year ago and it was great, couldn't see any change.

I was thinking about changing from Sniper to the Daiwa after some good reviews. Some claim that the Sniper is not as good as it use to be, maybe changed the formula, who knows.

I use either a 6.3:1 or 7.1:1, don't think it makes that much of a difference.

Wind plays a big part at the reservoir I fish. Find some rip rap with wind blowing in and I expect to catch some fish.

Fillet all the way. Don't take long and no bones. I use the Rapala electric knife.

I like my fish with salt, pepper, and yellow corn meal. Crappie is first on my list of eating but bass is a close second. Saying that, I don't keep a lot of bass but I don't feel bad when I do.

That is the finesse jig, it does not come in 4/0. The Pro BulletZ does but that is not the jig in the picture. I am 100% sure it is not a Z Man product.

I am a big Z Man fan and I know for sure it is not a Z Man although it does look similar to it. I don't think they make a jig head with a 4/0 hook.
