  1. Check this out for a use of med/heavy rods. https://majorleaguefishing.com/tips/randy-howells-daiwa-tatula-elite-spinning-rod-setup-for-power-fishing/
  2. Your lucky, I found out the hard way, on the Interstate!!! Crazy thing is I thought I had tried my tire wrench and thought it would fit. Had to call my wife to bring me my 4 way, which is kept in my truck all the time now.
  3. Most of my fish I caught in the spring was caught slider fishing. I used a 4" Z Man finesse worm in Junebug on their 1/16oz weedless head. I used yellow 10#PP with 7# Sunline Sniper leader. My rod was a Lews Custom 6'6" and a Plueger XT Supreme reel. Most came on just swimming it.
  4. On my home lake a Junebug 8" Zoom lizard works pretty well.
  5. Easier to cast, better on shoulders and elbows. I can cast spinning rig just as far or maybe farther than casting with less effort.
  6. Not too heavy, I use 16# test Sunline Sniper .
  7. I have 4 spinning rigs and all are m/f that I throw small plastics with. I am thinking about getting a H/F and using braid on it for throwing bigger plastics. MLF has an article on Randy Howell doing this. Getting older I think spinning is better on you than casting.
  8. Have a shop replace it or do it yourself. Look on youtube for how to. You will be disappointed if you try to epoxy it.
  9. Might find one on eBay.
  10. Prayers for his family, he will be missed greatly.
  11. What makes you think it is a scam!! ?
  12. Dang, it's been that kind of day so far. Thanks!!!
  13. Yep, you,re right, I meant to say left, senior moment. Went back and corrected it.
  14. Smart move. I wish I had started when I was 27. It's too late to turn back the clock but I do everything possible now to protect my skin. Do you know where most people get skin cancer, on the left side of the face. I have a friend who hardly got in the sun yet he got skin cancer from driving a car. He was a traveling salesman who drove a bunch. The sun coming through the window did the damage.
  15. Best thing you can do, I know it has been said but I want to say it again, cover up and get checked. I have been where Matt has, squamish cell on my face.I just had my 4th cancer cell cut off. It is never too early to start with getting checked. I also get checked 2 times a year. I am 70 and have lived in the sun at least 65 of those years.
  16. In Mississippi we call them a Magnolia crappie. Here is a article on them. https://www.ms-sportsman.com/content/in-search-of-the-magnolia-crappie-why-mdwfp-biologists-created-a-third-species-of-this-popular-panfish/
  17. Just when you thought you have seen it all, I guess he is waiting on his trolling motor.
  18. I took my divider out because I use my live well for storage. If I go crappie fishing for some meat, I just take a cooler with ice.
  19. 10# Power Pro yellow to 7# Sunline Sniper.
  20. Love a story with a happy ending!!

    Can't say it any better!!!
  22. To me it is hard to beat crappie followed by bass, bream, catfish.
