Wind plays a big part at the reservoir I fish. Find some rip rap with wind blowing in and I expect to catch some fish.

Fillet all the way. Don't take long and no bones. I use the Rapala electric knife.

I like my fish with salt, pepper, and yellow corn meal. Crappie is first on my list of eating but bass is a close second. Saying that, I don't keep a lot of bass but I don't feel bad when I do.

That is the finesse jig, it does not come in 4/0. The Pro BulletZ does but that is not the jig in the picture. I am 100% sure it is not a Z Man product.

I am a big Z Man fan and I know for sure it is not a Z Man although it does look similar to it. I don't think they make a jig head with a 4/0 hook.

Does anyone know the manufacture of these jig heads. I think the hook is 4/0 and the head is 1/16 0r 1/8. I bought these at Academy Sports beginning of the summer. I want to buy some more but Academy is out and I can't remember who made these. I thought it was Mustad but I can't find them on their web site. Anybody know?

At 70 I will leave all the work on my vehicles to the shop. I still like to work on my boat but major work is to the shop also.

As already mention, hard to go wrong with the Pflueger line, they range in price from $60-$150.

I would say it is for cranksbaits.

Might want to look at the Falcon Carolina Lizard Dragger. It is heavy action, 7', 12-25# test, 3/8oz to 1oz. I use it for froggin, pitching, and of course carolina rigging. Mine is the older USA made Lowrider so the new ones might be different but is probably the same.

They don't rattle but they sure do catch bass!!

I use to be totally against clips until I tried some different ones. I ended up using the Tatical Anglers brand in 50 lb test. I know that sounds like overkill but the next ones small were too small. These have worked out great. I do retire after every trip and when I am fishing if I need to. I think I catch more fish because now I don't mind changing because it is so easy. I have heard some anglers say they can tie just as fast. Well if you can change lures in 6 seconds I guess you can, yes I timed it. I only use these snaps on cranks, jerks, and top water.

This is the first year for me to use the Daiwa Tatulas reels. Wondering what everyone does using the cast control knob. The instructions that come with it says the cast control is set to factory specs, this gives the spool a little play. I use to set up reels by engaging the reel and letting the lure slowly fall. I have been using the factory setting and doing fine with it but my wife has trouble using the reels set that way. I guess I could set up one with the old way of doing it and she would probably have no problem. So, how is everyone setting set up their Tatulas. BTW, my Tatulas are the 100's.

It is going to get mixed regardless how you do it if you do any traveling after you put it in.

I have Tatulas but you can't go wrong with either.

If you would have asked me last year I would have said no way I am using a snap. Read on here a lot of guys using them and thought I would give them a try, snaps are the way to go for cranks. I use the Tactical Anglers and couldn't be any happier. It is true, you can teach a old dog new tricks.

I don't think Falcon makes a 6'6" rod in the Lowrider. I know they use to because I have 2 of them.
