  1. Rondef has caught several here in Virginia. I get the idea now that many people are realizing they aren't as serious of a threat as they were first made out to be.
  2. how would they compare to other rods in the same price range-- like a Shimano Crucial, Powell Max, Falcon Cara, Fenwick HMG, etc...?
  3. that is a fantastic deal!
  4. LINK Anyone used or know anything about these rods or any other rods by AR? They look really nice.
  5. that's a real fatty, congrats!
  6. what the h*! it looked like he went straight for him
  7. I've never owned a Daiwa reel so I didn't realize they don't work if they get knicks on them.
  8. Dan: replied to Bassboss's topic in Fishing Reports
I don't think anyone was saying it looked like a mount, I think the question about the mount was posed to answer why he was standing in a driveway with the fish as opposed to releasing it, but that's a whole other can of worms that has been discussed and argued in the past.
  9. what is the water temp where you are fishing?
  10. If the deer were dead, all musculature would be loose. That deer is strung tighter than a mandolin string. You're right, and I noticed the head also, it would have to be angled towards the camera it were on the ground because the rack would prop it up.
  11. Fake. I understand the whole fast object with slow shutter speed, but the deer has clean edges, the only thing is that the deer is "erased" at the top. I have not seen a fast moving object erased by a slow shutter speed, usually it is just a lengthening or blurring. Also, the deer does look like it could have been photoshopped in from a picture of a deer dead on the ground (I think the blood drops in "mid-air" look more like blood drippings on the fur) Do those cameras even take pictures fast enough when motion activated to catch a jumping deer? I thought they had a slight delay and a jumping deer would be moving FAST.
  12. The Lindner's use them for crappie on "Angling Edge."
  13. I have tried many shaky head jigs but I have never used the spot removers, they just seem too expensive and I don't like the jighead shape. I like the Owners as well as the Picasso shaky heads.
  14. When I worked in retail, I had a lady buy a $15 POS combo. She brought back just the rod, claiming it was broken (it wasn't) and demanded a refund. I told her we couldn't help her and if the product broke outside the store during normal use, she should try to contact the manufacturer ( I think it was Daiwa). She was furious! And so was I! She was trying to return HALF of a product (she had left the reel at home since it was "not broken") and expected me to give her a refund!? People are ridiculous. Most of the time people just get angry because they know that retail employees including managers just don't want to deal with them and will give them what they want just to make them shut up. I agree and think that is dishonest. When I broke my St Croix in the trunk of my car, I did not expect them to help me out, it was completely my fault it broke and it was my fault I hadn't sent in the warranty registration. I took the hit which because of St Croix's warranty and upgrade package wasn't all that bad...It's called taking responsibility for your actions, and I try to do it. When my rod broke I was angry, not at St Croix but at myself--because it was my fault and I was going to have to fix it.
  15. I agree with Tin. I caught a few episodes and I thought it was an interesting story but too much going on. Also you can tell that actor who plays Jackson is trying REALLY hard to seem bad#%s and its a little off putting to me.
  16. I knew guys who loved them and I knew some that hated them, I think it was a preference thing.
  17. They have some nice reels that are very smooth, but as others said most of them are geared towards saltwater and they do tend to be a little on the heavy side. That's why they don't get much consideration here.
  18. But then isn't what you're drinking barely beer?
  19. If you see her car down there again, try to do the same thing to her.
  20. If anyone thinks baseball is a kid's sport, I challenge you to try to go .250 against even a good HIGH SCHOOL pitcher.... They've said that hitting a pitch is one of the hardest things to do in sports, and I couldn't agree more. Most people who talk trash about baseball being easy have never picked up a bat after little league...
  21. I think their relatively weak schedule is made up for by the fact they are absolutely CRUSHING their opponents. They have a lot of speed on that team and I love to watch them play. My father's side of the family are almost all Nittany Lions so I sort of have a preference for them. I really do think they could compete with most top 10 teams and I hope they get a big bowl game AT LEAST
  22. reminds me of those musky baits, I think they are called Bulldogs or something. Hope it catches some nice fish
  23. Sorry Andrew, that's a pretty little perch you caught too! lol Alright, I'll find someone to fish with this weekend. Hopefully I'll be home again before thanksgiving.
  24. Beautiful! Is that Marist shirt your lucky fishing shirt?
