  1. When I got my prescription sunglasses, the optomitrist told me that gray was the most versatile color. Falcon
  2. Lake St. Clair is full of them. The only time I ever see them is when they are spawning. As Coldwaterbassin said there is a good chance there are. Falcon
  3. Sorry, I can't comment. I'm laughing too hard. Falcon
  4. I use two types of line. 12# Trilene XL Clear Blue Fluorescent, and 40# Stren Super/Sonic Braid low vis green. Falcon
  5. I can't get anything to bite in my canal, however I've been fishing a 2.5 acre pond in my daughter's subdivision. I've had some success with a spinnerbait recently. Tomorrow I'm going back and trying some jigs, lipless crankbaits, jerkbaits, and senkos. Falcon
  6. Welcome to the best fishing site on the net. Falcon
  7. I always set my drag by the book, and leave it there. Falcon
  8. Here on St. Clair, I do well with the XR10 (4"), XR08 (3 1/8") in Silver Blue, Hot Pink, Clown, and Silver. I also have alot of success with the sweep pause..sweep pause, method. Falcon
  9. George was the best. I loved listening to him call a game. He was a real southern gentleman. I talked to him a couple times. I graduated from high school with Frank Beckman, he introduced me to George. Falcon
  10. Another vote for the Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs. Falcon
  11. The only rod I have that isn't one piece is my travel rod. Over the years, I've had two rods break at the ferrel. It won't happen again. As far as sensitivity, I couldn't say, because I only used crankbaits and live bait back then. Flechero brought up a good point, with balance being an issue. Falcon
  12. I agree with T-rig. Every Spring, the carp spawn in my canal. We always have 6-8 gold carp in the mix. One year my buddy and I caught some goldfish fry in a minnow trap and used them in the lake. We caught some of the biggest smallies of the season with those goldfish. Falcon
  13. We have a Cabela's about 2 1/2 hrs. from my house. The only time I was there I got new in box Shimano Solstace spinning reel for $15.00, because it didn't have the papers in the box. My buddy got a bunch of hunting stuff also. There are alot of great deals in the Bargain Cave. Falcon
  14. Nice looking baits. Good job. Falcon
  15. That was hilarious!! Falcon
  16. When my spine acts-up and it's too painful to do alot of casting, I use large Golden Shiners, or Emerald Shiners, but if I'm lucky enough to get Spottail Minnows, they are like Smallmouth candy. Falcon
  17. Sorry to hear of your bad luck. It happened to me many years ago. It's bad enough that they steal your equipment, but then they destroy your boat also. IT SUCKS!! Now you have to deal with your insurance company. Sometimes that's as big a problem as the theft itself. Good luck, Falcon
  18. ***: 6" Finesse Worm 7" Hookup 5" *** As has been mentioned, Brent is tops for quality, price, and service. Falcon
  19. I agree with Marty. You should send it back to Rapala. I know of guys getting an extra bait when they sent one back, because of defect. Falcon
  20. I have three colors that have been producing, Red Craw, Sexy Shad, and Royal Shad. Falcon
  21. I went to Dick's on Saturday. They didn't have any XCalibur baits on sale,(I was hoping to get some One Knockers) however I got some Strike King Shadilicious swimbaits on sale for $4.78 per pack, they're $9.99 at BPS. It made the trip worthwhile. Falcon
  22. Lake St. Clair is pretty shallow, so I don't fish much deep water. When I do fish water over 10 feet deep, these are my most productive baits. DD-14 & 22 DT-14 & 16 Strike King Series 5 & 6 Fat Free Shads Falcon
  23. Paragon is correct, St. Clair is catch and immediate release until the third Saturday in June. Falcon
  24. Spring is absolutely my favorite time of year for smallies. Alot of my sows come this time of year. Spinnerbaits work well this time of year for me as well. Falcon
  25. There is another jerkbait that works fantastic, and not alot of guys fish with them. Try the Bomber Long A's. They are fish catching machines, and don't cost an arm and leg. They come in floaters and suspending. Falcon
