BULL PUKKY! Wal-Mart IS at fault! That store should have been prepared for the Yahoos that it attracts. Limited entry is a very simple thing to do, but that particular store manager apparently decided to just throw the doors wide open and let chaos occur.

If you really want to use the H2O to best effectiveness, you need to have either the Navionics or the FHS card in it. For either land or water navigation the H2O is pretty much useless without a card. It could be that one could go to the Lowrance website, download their free lake maps, and get the same resolution for both land and water, but I really don't know. I installed the FHS card in my unit the day I bought it.

I have a 522 installed at the console. When I am at speed I don't pay much attention to the graph itself. I prefer to watch the digital readout. In the lakes I fish, it's either WOT in the channels or easy-does-it in the timber. When fishing milfoil I tend to lose bottom a lot but regain it just as fast. I have a vintage flasher on my console and it's no better nor worse than the 522 in the salad.

My first GPS purchase was the hand held Lowrance H2O. I had it mounted at the console on my Tracker, but the screen was so small and the vibration so bad that I had to stop the boat to see where I was. That's when I installed the LMS-522 at the console. I love it, but on bright sunny days I still have a hell of a time navigating when at speed. Polarized sunglasses tend to obscure the screen. As for the H2O, I still use it on the bow. I use it to mark the majority of my way points, and then transfer the info to the 522 later. It's too much of a hassle to run back and forth from the bow to the console to mark WPs. When funds allow, I will have networked bow/console units.

I believe the correct word is hanged. Those guys could very well be hung, but they still need to be hanged. ;D

I'll be placing my turkey on the smoker in the morning. Having grown up in Cajun Country I have injected it with a garlic/onion/secret ingredient mixture. The turkey will be soaking in a red wine and spice mixture overnight. Tomorrow it will go on the mesquite-fired smoker. I'm already getting hungry.

Well, what did you expect? The rod was obviously being tested to destruction. Did anyone notice how many eyes were on that rod? I counted eleven, including the tip.

Has anyone noticed that the only ONE of the Mods (ghoti) has elected to participate? Shall we shame them or let sleeping logs die? ;D

I keep it on, but cut off a few feet every outing or so.

Now, this is a SAD, SAD photo. About this time last year. We had an ice storm here in Tulsa. The poor tree next door just couldn't take the ice load and decided to fall on my Suburban and boat. $1800 damage to the truck. The boat's trolling motor and jack-up wheel were both trashed. The truck was insured. You can't insure a boat for that type of damage.

I have a 1980 Tracker that had a badly cracked windshield. I took it to a local plastics company and they were able to build a replica that was an almost perfect match. Oddly though, they refused to drill the mounting holes. No biggie. I did it myself. BTW, Olebiker, I really like the color scheme on your boat. Is it original?

OK, Glenn, I'll fess up. I don't follow basketball at all. I really don't care about the (TH)(BL)under. When the NASCAR and college football seasons are over, I figure that I am entering the sports doldrums. The NFL playoffs and the Superbowl fill the gaps, but from that point on there is a great void in my sports enthusiasm. So, if fishing is out and sports watching is out, what am I to do? To begin with, I'm going to learn to program in C. Secondly, I'm going to learn how to build my own lures. When I get tired of using all of the hieroglyphics of C, I will switch to pouring lead into molds. I doubt that I will be bored this winter.

I hear you, but losing teams aren't very well tolerated around here. In addition to OU, OSU, & TU, we have (minor league) professional baseball, hockey and arena football teams. ALL of them consistently have winning seasons.

I dunno, I've cured more than on electrical problem with a hammer - permanently.
