  1. Between 3:00 yesterday afternoon and 6:00 this morning the temperature in Tulsa dropped 60 degrees. Heavy sleet last night fell on warm roads and then re-froze. The streets this morning were like an ice rink. Dozens and dozens of accidents, some fatal.
  2. For some reason I am reminded of the following: "Maybe a revolution every now and then is a good thing...no?" Captian Ramius to John Ryan in "The Hunt for Red October"
  3. If us Depends folks started talking about favorite actors, ninety percent of you Pampers guys would have no idea who we were talking about. For example, I'm willing to bet that Bassboss likes Don Knots because he has seen him ONLY as Barney Fife on the old Andy Griffith series.
  4. I thought Bush was pretty nimble. If he had had a baseball glove he would have caught both the shoes. But then, the shoes could have also been hand grenades. Having lived in the Middle East for a number of years, I concur with Dominion Dan's statement that showing the bottom of your shoe is one of the highest forms of insult. My first transgression took place when I lived in Dubai. I had just finished a meal at local restaurant and was sitting with one leg crossed on top of the other. Unfortunately, the bottom of my shoe was pointed at one of the Arab patrons. To my great good fortune, he had been educated in the West and calmly explained to me what I had done. I apologized profusely and made a hasty departure. My second (and last) transgression occurred when I lived in Iran. I was talking to someone on the phone and had my legs crossed, with my feet propped up on my desk ... and then, an Arab walked into my office. He was an employee, but before he quit he said something to the effect I was a filthy infidel and lower than camel dung. It was then that I learned that when in the Middle East, keep both feet firmly planted on the ground.
  5. Hookem, where are you planning on seeking your higher education?
  6. I was green with *** when Fishfordollars told me that he and Catt were going to be fishing together. In retrospect, I'm glad I wasn't there. Four to six foot waves in a bass boat, regardless of size, is not my idea of a fun time. You ARE going to get wet.

It was 69 degrees in Tulsa at 3:00 this afternoon. I was happily placing the outdoor Christmas lights in my T-Shirt. Before I was finished I was wearing my winter coat. It's now 24 degrees, with a wind chill of 13.
  8. You have a 40 gallon tank in a Bass Tracker? Wow! Without sacrificing flotation foam, it was everything I could do to install a 16 gallon tank in my '89 seventeen footer. Since you have a tank that large I highly recommend that you install an inline fuel/water filter. I'm not sure where you live geographically, but if weather permits, I suggest you hook a water hose to your motor and attempt to start the engine. If you can start it and it runs OK I wouldn't bother replacing the gas.
  9. Calm? You want me to be Calm? How can I be Calm when every night I have a recurring nightmare from watching the old "Monster of The Lagoon" movie. I'm going insane! Every night I awaken to a dream wherein a horrible looking, skinny little creature with a Mohawk drags me out of my boat to his underwater lair. It is filled with T-Shirts and sweatshirts, and he insists that I must buy them all if am am to return alive. What a horrible, horrible nightmare. Is there any wonder that I can't remain calm?
  10. I once knew a girl in Bangkok who called herself Mary Christmas. We had a merry old time. ;D
  11. I'm not a mathematician, but ... 1170%? :-/
  12. We are Americans. We always get through the hard times. It's not this particular recession that bothers me. We will get through it. The banking industry has learned a hard lesson at the expense of the tax payer. I doubt that it will repeat it's mistake. Alan Greenspan now knows that he was woefully wrong in saying that the banking industry would regulate itself. Changes will be made. As a result, that part of our economy will stabilize. The auto industry desperately needs NO handout from we, the tax payers. It is time for the big three to get their heads out of the sand and learn to look around to see what their foreign competitors are doing. It's time for the unions to release their stranglehold. In short, it's time for a complete and drastic restructuring of the US auto industry. Declaration of bankruptcy will be the only way to get the complete, undivided, attention of both management and labor. We, as a nation, will get through it, and be the better for it. By far, my greatest concern is the disintegration of the work ethic in our country. That could very well be our downfall, but I have high hopes that, in one hundred years, our Spanish speaking American nation will be as strong as ever.
  13. Without a doubt, it's a very rare Killer Bass. It's one of his teeth. Would I lie?
  14. Before I comment on the water separator, I would ask a few questions. Does the boat a metal fuel tank or a plastic one? If it's metal, throw it away and replace it with plastic. Throw the gas away also. If you have a plastic tank, get rid of the gas. Just pour it into the gas tank of your car. It will mix with the gas in your car and will do no harm. Unless the gas currently in your boat has been treated with a preservative like Sta-Bil or Startron, there is a very good possibility that the carburetors are gummed up and your motor will not start. In this case, you will need to have them re-built. As for the water separator, you really don't need one because your fuel tank is fairly small; but, if you really want one, they are very simple to install.
  15. Buy it. The motor and trailer alone are worth $1500.
  16. CFFF, I would very much appreciate any help I can get. Thanks for the offer to send me the name of the product you used for your boat.
  17. Muddy's neighbor called me today and said he finally cracked under the pressure of the math course and decided to go snorkeling.
  18. You think you may be sick? Just ask any of the members. We know you are sick! ;D ;D ;D
  19. I live in Oklahoma, so I am naturally biased toward Bradford; and he deserves to win it. That said, I think that Tebow is one of the greatest athletes that ever walked onto a football field.
  20. For a change, Jack has a ringer on board. That is a very significant change from Jack fishing with me at Fork. Good luck guys!
  21. To be honest, I really don't know the hull thickness on my seventeen footer. It could be .09. The hull has taken a beating from the previous owner. In one spot near the stern there is a dent in it about two inches wide and an inch deep. Remarkably, the hull is intact at that point. My only problem is that the hull is riveted and leaks like a sieve, despite all my efforts at caulking, etc. I wish I could find a fail-safe cure.
  22. Glenn, this is outright age discrimination! I feel that you are trying to get rid of me just because I can spell, use pronunciation and know how to capitalize the first word of a sentence. Your spell-checker will save many, but I will still be lurking. Beware, those of you too lazy to capitalize the word "I"
  23. I WILL NEVER GO DUCK HUNTING AGAIN! IT'S TOO MUCH FRIGGIN HARD WORK JUST TO GET TO THE BLIND!
  24. I can't believe I just read this thread. What a load of crap! :
