  1. I've lived in England, Dubai, Iran, Singapore, Norway, and Scotland - all within an eleven year time frame. In the process, I also traveled to an additional twenty-six other countries. I've never been to Saipan, but I would like to. My Dad fought there in WWII.
  2. Priceless! But what happened to Italy in the rankings? Maybe the BCS computers had a problem with Italy switching conferences in the middle of the season. :-/
  3. Regardless of the time of year, Russ always asks to speak to Mom. Perhaps, one day, he will get lucky and meet a VERY grateful Mom.
  4. It's uncanny! It looks almost exactly like the console on my Tracker!
  5. What FBL said. The old saying goes "If I knew then what I know now ... "
  6. The last time I gave Muddy a pack of GYCB baits he put them between a couple of slices of Semolina bread and ate them.
  7. Personally, I am very comfortable with the price of oil holding in the $60 neighborhood. It allows the oil companies to drill for oil and still make a profit from the production of any oil discovered. The unfortunate thing is that, at $60, North America's vast resources of oil shale reserves will probably now remain un-developed. If I remember correctly, oil needs to be at about $65 for oil shale development to be a viable economic enterprise. In addition, at this price of oil, the return on investment in the development of alternative energy sources becomes untenable. I love the very low prices of gasoline these days. After all, I drive a gas-hog Suburban. However, I would be content to pay $2.00 a gallon if the price of oil required a gas price of that level. A whole lot of good things related to alternative energy would result.
  8. That is precisely what I plan to do. ;D ;D That's exactly what I did. Her comment: "That man makes too much money and has too much time on his hands."
  9. I was deeply touched by that poem, so have taken the liberty of copying it and forwarding it to my friends and family.
  10. Both Wayne and Jig Man have valid points, but it has been my experience that both the Navionics and the Hot Spots cards have mapping errors - some of them serious. Both cards have their advantages and disadvantages. My personal preference is have a map with the close interval contour lines. If clutter is an issue it's very simple to zoom out a couple of steps until the 1' contours disappear. My vote still goes to Navionics.
  11. Once... a long, long time ago ... I might have pulled a stupid stunt like that. The kids had a lot of fun, didn't get arrested, and, to their great good fortune, no harm was done to persons or property.
  12. Aceman, I bought a laptop from Bestbuy a couple of weeks ago for $400. I know computers and can assure you that almost any laptop these days will serve your needs. I have two desktops in the house but wanted the laptop for the rare occasions when I was on the road. Go for it!
  13. All of my rods are fitted with braided line, and all of my rods have an XPS fluro leader. I tried the uni to uni knot and had a few failures. I have since switched to the Stren knot. It is exponentially stronger than the Uni/Uni knot and it has never failed. My Palomar knot at the hook will always fail before the Stren knot. Do a search on this site for the knot. It's where I found it.
  14. Hookem, I hate you. I was about to go to bed, but you HAD to bring up Pink Floyd didn't you? Now I'll be up for the next hour just listening to their music. If I keep staying up this late I'm going to get wrinkles, and it will be your fault. Just in case you ask, my daughters caused all of the gray hair.
  15. Denial.......... She just laid there, didn't she?
  16. Ian, I was in your shoes for a long time. I have read extensively, but because I usually fish alone, I did not know how to effectively put my new-found knowledge to use. It wasn't until I fished with a very knowledgeable and successful angler (fishfordollars) that the pieces started to fall into place. My best advice is to find yourself a mentor. Personally, come Spring, I hope to join one of the local bass clubs and fish as a co-angler for a while. Depending upon whom I fish with, I may or may not learn anything. Either way, it beats the hell out of fishing alone and being guaranteed to not learn anything new.
  17. Sorry CJ. I only pick on the lazy teeners. Besides I wouldn't know where to start! :-/ ;D
  18. Yes, the BCS sucks. Unfortunately for Missouri, they are going to get stomped this week-end. It would make no difference if they were playing Texas, OU, or Texas-Tech.
  19. The only bowl that LSU should be playing in is the toilet bowl; and I'm an LSU fan.
  20. If you're going to stir the pot at least have your facts straight Mike. ghoti is not a moderator, he is BR Staff. So, as of right now the count for participating BR Staff is 1, the count for BR Staff/moderators is ZERO. I'll be in by the 5th Well, EXCUUUUUSE ME! I didn't know that rank was so important among the BR Staff. I guess Ghoti is the Private, Glenn is the General and all you other guys are Colonels. BTW, glad you are going to participate in the exchange. If you draw my name please do not send a lump of coal. My fireplace is gas-fired.
  21. Wrong! I don't like BIG fat women.
  22. I do not retract my previous statement. It's Walmart's responsibility to ensure the safety of it's customers and employees. If I were a Walmart manager, I would have opened a single door and have made every customer enter, single-file, through a turnstile. I would also have had four security guards in place to pry the big fat women out of the turnstile. In addition, the security guards would be authorized to TASER anyone trying to climb over the big fat women. After the big fat women get through the turnstile, they should be TASERed just for getting in the way. ;D
  23. No thanks, but nice plug for your company. OK, ***, it's your turn for a free plug.
