To paraphrase the late, great Hank Snow, I've been everywhere, man. I've crossed the deserts bare, man. I've breathed the mountain air, man. Of travel I've had my share, man. I've been everywhere. Born in Little Rock. Grew up in South Louisiana in the heart of Cajun country. After getting out of college I went into the Oil Patch and subsequently moved to England, then Dubai, Iran, Singapore, Norway, England again, Scotland, and then Houston. While bouncing around, I had the opportunity of visiting over thirty different countries. In the mid eighties I changed jobs and ended up in Tulsa. Been here ever since and plan on ending my life here. God's country.

Not to hijack the thread, but I keep my boat plug clipped to the boat's ignition key. It's really hard to forget about the plug when you are about to fire up the boat. I think I got the idea from Bassin' magazine.

OK, it's been three weeks, and every board member with the exception of the attendees has pretty much forgotten about the trip. Glenn, when are you going to FINALLY get around to posting images of the trip? Inquiring minds want to know.

I can't speak for the Sonar other than to sugggest you deal directly with Lowrance. As for the GPS, if I'm not mistaken, the 520 requires an external antenna. If you don't have one that could be your problem.

Way2Slow: Dorky? That's like saying the F-16 fighter looks Dorky. Haven't you noticed that Hydrofoils are a real chick magnet?

The depth finders draw so little power that you wiil have no problem running them off your TM battery.

Jet Fleas? We call them Lake Lice in my neck of the woods. Either way, painintheass parasites. I'm trying to figure a non lethal way to kill them.

Catt, just out of curiosity, why do you prefer to run your TM as deep as possible?

My fishing buddy caught one that size last week. When he set the hook it sailed all the way over the boat.

I have a set of DolFins attached to the 60hp motor on my 17' Tracker. The difference in hole shot performance was amazing, plus rough water performance was improved. A word of caution. Be very careful when motoring through standing timber. I've heard tales of damaged lower units and cavitation plate due to hard impact to the hydrofoil, but it's all third hand info.

Replace the prop. A prop with a missing blade will vibrate so badly that it will jar the fillings out of your teeth. In addition, it will place excessive stress on the motor bearings.

Great post and great pics George, but that is definitely NOT a picture of Avid. Avid would never allow a picture of himself to be posted unless it was out of focus and missed at least a third of his face.
