What 'custom' enhancements have you made for your boat? (other than decks)
Skunked Again, I plead guilty on the crate thing.

Jones Roofing Co. is born!
CJ, wishing you all the best! It will put a crimp in your fishing for a while, but in the long run, the sacrifices will be well worth it.

Danica Patrick Wins
Abelfisher, I agree completely with you. She Won! Good for her! She beat the best of the best! She Won! As for all of the advanced publicity, has anyone noticed that she is drop-dead gorgeous?

What 'custom' enhancements have you made for your boat? (other than decks)
My boat is a 1990 17' aluminum tracker. The following is a short list of the improvements I have made since I bought it last summer. Discarded the old metal gas tanks and installed a permanent 16gal plastic tank with external fill-neck and vent. Added fuel gauge to console. Replaced fuel hoses and bulb. Added fuel filter. Installed Dual-Pro charger with external power plug. Installed automatic bilge pump and replaced live-well pumps. Converted live well to combination live well and ice chest by adding 1 & 1/2" of foam insulation to top, bottom and sides. Replaced inaccessible blade-type fuse panel with accessible bayonet-type fuse panel. Replaced awkward trailer tie-down straps with spring-loaded "BoatBuckles." Replaced incandescent trailer lights with LEDs. Installed AM/FM radio/CD player in console along with four speakers in bulkheads. Installed a light in the aft compartment where batteries and fuel tank are located. Installed dedicated wiring for the console mounted GPS/Sonar unit so that it remains powered at all times. Replaced cracked console wind screen with new, custom-made one. Repaired numerous leaky rivets. Other than the above, I haven't done much to the boat.

Post counts
For obvious reasons, I'm very happy to see the post counts removed. Hopefully, it will cut down on the number of nitwits who post meaningless drivel for the sole purpose of increasing their count.

beds
The best way to accurately locate a bed is to find the pillows and blankets. The bed will usually be under them.

Exclusive interview with John Crews
I will have to agree with John's position on this subject. He is a pro and he is trying to make a living. Having to cater to a co-angler in the process must be very trying. The equalizer is that all of the Pros have to put up with the same BS.

Grand lake OK
As of this morning, the lake was six feet above normal. At this time, no water is being released because the reservoirs below it are also well above normal.

oil pump and transom saver question
Scott, I can't provide any info on the oil lines because I have no experience in that area. As for the transom saver, based on your photo you have a Tracker, as do I. The angle of the motor in your photo is very consistent with the angle of my 60HP when resting on the saver. Tip: Lower the motor until it rests on the saver and then continue lowering until it just begins to "seat" itself on the saver, then stop.

Loud Advertisements!!!!
Change the settings of your screen to 800X600, 16 colors. That should take care of your problem with the sound.

That's one show I never miss - including the re-runs.

Mounting transducer on trolling motor
Don't mount the transducer to the trolling motor. Mount it to a piece of PVC or aluminum pipe and then clamp it to your bow or transom. Use your imagination.

Fishing and Golf (POLL)
Cajun, I've already had a realization. I would much prefer to be on the water than on a golf course. I may never become a good bass fisherman, but that's OK with me. At the very least, I get to witness the wonders of nature instead of the whims of a golf course manager.

Muddy would be so proud
GMAN, you will be happy to learn that if you leave your rods on the Pfleugar rack, they will eventually grow President reels on them. ;D ;D

Question for small boat anglers
ladyflyfisher, yes I clamp it to the transom. I don't have a big motor on my raft, but I would guess that it would not stay attached at any speed over 5 MPH. As for the orientation of the transducer, it will make no difference because transducer signals are in the shape of a cone.

New HotMaps Explorer CE
I would love to order the software, but I think I'll wait until the HotMaps people regain their sanity regarding the shipping charges. Since the air mail charges are $11.00 less than the FedEx charges, I can only surmise that the product is being shipped from Japan.

quicksilver or supertech?
W2S, thanks for the prompt reply. I was referring to the OTC additives. So, it seems that you have decided to use Seafoam to the exclusion of all others, simply because you like it. i.e. It does the job you want it to do. Now, let's get back to the engine oils. What percentage of your evaluation of the oils is based on your personal preference and what percentage is based upon the damage that you have seen less expensive oils do to engines?

Sonar/GPS Combo Unit Input
Oops! I confused the 525 with the 527, plus completely forgot about the dual frequency. I should have done my homework. :-[ JigMan is right on, but I still love my 522.
