OK, I'll play. As I've said on other posts I use braid on all my rods, both bait caster and spinning. On all of them I attach a flouro leader, usually between four to six feet in length. To me, I have the best of both worlds. i.e. the braid lasts and lasts, but it is a visible line. The flouro leader makes the line invisible to the prey. One caveat. Don't be too aggressive on your hooksets. Braid doesn't stretch, and the leader is too short to compensate. Just a short jerk is all that is usually required.

Many, many people cannot or will not spend the money for Loomis or St. Croix rods. In my opinion, BPS rods are some of the best you can buy for the price - especially when they are on sale.

Tackle Tour performed some extensive research of flouro line. The Bass Pro Extreme line was the clear winner. www.tackletour.com. All of my rods are loaded with braid, with a BPS flouro leader.

My best guess is that the dotted line indicates the shoreline under low water conditions. That is why the islands have the same dotted lines around them. But I could be wrong. The map is very unconventional. Definitely not the work of th Corps of Engineers.

Delmonte, the answer is yes. Yes, they can be spliced together and run through the two toggle switches. Yes, you should use fuses. I would recommend that you wire the three LEDs in parallel and run them through one of the switches and then do the same for the two white lights and run them through the other switch. A fuse should be installed between each switch and the battery. If you are unfamiliar with how to go about the above, feel free to PM me and I will walk you through it. BTW, I assume that your boat running lights are already functional, because the lights you are planning to install will not be a legal replacement in any state of the Union.

Saint Romain, either your family is wealthy or you have inherited a lot of money. Why else would someone who has only a part-time job and who is about to start college want to spend $12,000 when it should obviously be used to further his education? On the other hand, maybe you are planning on getting a loan for the boat and paying for it with your part time job. You might want to consider the other things you will need to pay for as well, assuming Daddy and Mommy are not picking up the tab. Things such as: Tuition & Books Boat Payment: Three years at 7% = $370/mo. Car/Truck Payments. (I assume you have one since you plan on towing a boat) Insurance costs for both car and boat Gasoline for both car and boat Room and Board Clothing Food Beer Just food for thought.

I use the Berkeley Line Spooler. Very easy to use. Don't bother with the so-called line spoolers that you have to attach to your rod.

I can't speak for other boats but I gained about 3 mph when I installed Dol-Fins on my 60 hp Tracker. The difference in hole shot was amazing.

I grew up in the Lafayette area. If you are an outdoors kind of guy you will love it there. There are many places to fish (both fresh and salt water) and hunt. All you have to do is to get used to the heat, humidity and all manner of biting things. BTW, the local college football team is the Rajun Cajuns.

If that car is the only transport you have, then I suggest you buy a two-piece rod. Problem solved.

You will not be surprised to learn that a bass boat is whatever you need/want it to be. It all depends upon what bodies of water you want to fish and the weather conditions you expect to encounter.

Prop repair pros will tell you to never file the nicks off a stainless prop. It has something to do with their repair process, but I don't really know what the problem is. Talk to a prop pro before you begin filing.
