Y'all Ready?
What am I to do? I was born in Arkansas and have family there. Should I be a Razorback fan? However, I grew up in Louisiana and have a nephew who is a member of the LSU Marching Band. Should I be an LSU fan? On the other hand, I have lived in Tulsa for the last twenty-two years. Should I be an OU, OSU or a TU fan? Decisions, Decisions.

Bottomline Depth Finder
Jack, I use the Bottomline on my inflatable raft. Let's just say I damaged the transducer and need a new assembly. If someone tells you I ran over it with my truck, it's a lie. For what it's worth, I have a Lowrance 522 on my Tracker and know how to use it.

Too Hot To Fish
I went out last week-end. At 0630 the water temp was 92. Never got so much as a nibble. Was off the water by noon. The high was 101. That was last week-end. I could have gone out today, but the high reached 105. I stayed indoors and re-sorted my lures.

Bottomline Depth Finder
I have a Bottomline Tournament 480 depth finder that I bought from BPS about two years ago. I need to replace the transducer/cable assembly, but can find nothing on the internet about who the manufacturer is. BPS no longer carries this item. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

What was your first boat? Mine was......
Since no one really gives a rat's butt about anyone else's first boat, mine was a 36' Cris Craft Jon Boat. It had a 2520 lb MinnKotorGuide TM on the bow, but I couldn't put a gas motor on it because of all the batteries needed for the TM.
-
flat vs V opinions needed
The V-Hull would handle rough water much better. The extra 3 inches in the width would make the boat a little more stable, assuming that you were standing the same height above the waterline and the same distance from the center-line as in the Jon.

Gblanks Rods?
I have a 7' MH G-Blank and love it. The split-grip is not an issue for me. It's very light, sensitive and well worth the money.

Is it ignorance or laziness?
I'll bet your mom would see a BIG problem with what you just posted. ;D

Would you rather...
Geez, what a stupid question. :

Is it ignorance or laziness?
What Hookemdown said. This subject is not complex. All I am asking for is a little effort on the part of posters to capitalize the first word of a sentence, capitalize the word "I" and to insert a period wherever you think the sentence should end. It would make life much easier on those who are trying to read the posts. In all honesty, I could care less about proper grammar and spelling, although I think they are important. I think most Members would agree with me. Proper grammar and spelling are a direct result of one's formal education. Some of us have not had the opportunity of higher education, and that's fine with me. Those of you who have frequented this board know that I have NEVER publicly criticized a poster for his/her use of the English language and I never will. Re-read the first paragraph.

Hydrofoil on a bass boat
I have a set of Dol-Fins (sp) on my 60hp Tracker. NBR is right. The difference in hole-shot is amazing. I think I've gained about three MPH at WOT, but the difference could just be the weather conditions. Also, I've heard that if you have porpoising problems, the hydrofoil will cure them. A word of caution, if you fish a lake with a lot of stick-ups, the hydrofoil makes a pretty large target.

Is it ignorance or laziness?
I think it's laziness. Many posters on this site don't even bother to capitalize the beginning of a sentence. They don't bother to capitalize the word "I", they don't bother to check their spelling, and they think a period is something a woman has. The Internet has become the primary means of both formal and informal communication between individuals of all educational levels. This site is one of informality, but there is no excuse for laziness when it comes to posting on this or any other site. Think about how the readers of your post will perceive you.

Does anyone have a Powell Rod?
Tackle Tour performed an evaluation of Powell rods about a year or so ago. Rated them very well.

Vet visit
Anyone want me to post a picture of my $1000 dog? He's a 75lb mutt that my daughter picked up off the street and brought home. Several years after we fell in love with him he got hit by a car. $1000 later we have a 75lb crippled mutt.

Interesting watch, made from part of the Titanic hull.
Well, if it's made from the hull of the Titanic, I would think that it would be prone to rusting. Who wants to pay $173K for a watch that will rust?

Does anyone else "Google Earth?"
I have Google Earth and love it. Microsoft's Virtual Earth is also very good and has some neat features that Google Earth does not, such as high-res aerial photography and a Street View option that allow you to have a view of selected areas as if you were driving down the street. Mind you, these views are restricted to the more populated areas. On the other hand, if you have the Navionics Hot Maps software, you can view lake contour maps side-by-side with Google Earth images.

Eagle/Lowrance GPS map
To tell you the truth, I'm not sure. The Lowrance site offers free map downloads that will work in the Lowrance units, but I don't know if they will work in the Eagle units. The best I can suggest is the you download a map to your SD card, plug it into the Eagle unit, and find it if it will upload.

At least everyone is smart enough not to run Hoosiers. Remember them?

Battery charger question
It might help a little if you could provide the manufacturer's name and Model No. of the on-board charger.

Worst tackle investment you have made...
There is only one part of my body that I would love to have turn brittle. I can stay in the sun all day. My skin looks like an alligator's, but that part stays as flexible as it has for years. :'(
