Tressel Resigns
I watched an interesting article on the local news this evening. Bobby Knight is in town for some sort on banquet. When being interviewed by the local media, someone asked what Bobby thought of the NCAA. He said (and I'm paraphrasing here) that the NCAA hasn't got a clue. They make up stupid rules and enforce them against people like Kressel, all the while ignoring the most blatant violations, such as athletes who stop going to class, yet still are allowed to compete. Regardless of what you think about Knight, he calls a spade a spade. BTW, I'm not trying to hi-jack the thread, so let's leave Knight out of this.

Gps Question
A little more information would be helpful. What are the Model Nos. on the console and bow units? Do they both have GPS capability? Does either unit use an external GPS antenna? Are the units capable of NMEA 2000 networking?

Loading Line; By Hand Or With Winder?
With baitcasters I use the Berkley winder. With the spinning reels the spool goes on the floor and I do it by hand. Much l.ess line twist.

Be Careful New England
Grundle, the problem with being young is that one thinks he knows everything, but knows very little. He pontificates on things he knows nothing about ... a classic case of open mouth insert foot. I live in the heart of Tornado Alley. Do you have any idea of what the probabilities are of my house being hit by a killer tornado? It varies depending on the "expert." It's between 1 in 500,000 and 1 in 10,000,000. Regardless of the "expert," I like those odds. I've lived in Tulsa for 23 years and I've never seen a tornado. I think I will stay here. Take a look around. Do you see a mass exodus of people who live in Tornado Alley when Spring arrives? When you see a person look at their demolished home saying "I can't believe this happened," sit back and consider the odds of it happening. FYI, every state in the Union has experienced tornadoes, including Alaska.

Service Manual
I have the Seloc manual for my '04 Merc XR6. I've been satisfied with it, but the manual covers so many engines that a lot of page turning is required.

Favorite Lifevest
F.I.T, I have a Mustang vest and have fished in a driving rain with no problems. I made the mistake of stowing the very wet vest in a locker and then forgot about it. The result? Mildew stains all over the vest. I would consider that a very high humidity environment. The vest didn't deploy, but it's a lot uglier than it used to be.

Otey, I missed the show, but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that he was at Trophy Country. Several celebs have used the area for photo ops.

Hey Rhino, Is This You?
It sorta looks like Rhino, because that's the way he dresses when he goes fishing. However, it can't be him because there's not a fishing pole or a lobster pot in sight.

When Sirens Meant Something
The National Weather Service is pretty much on its toes here in Tulsa. It doesn't sound the horns unless there is a threat of imminent danger. In addition, the sirens are areal, meaning only the ones closest to the storm are turned on.

Now It's Oklahoma
As of 7:00 A.M. we have eight confirmed fatalities. Most of the damage seems to have occurred in the small town of Piedmont, which is located just northwest of Oklahoma City. It looks like they were hit with an EF-4 tornado. One of the stories that are being broadcast at this moment is that a pregnant mother and her three children were hit. The mother and one child are in critical condition, one child is dead, and the third, a three-tear-old, is missing. As for the Tulsa area where I live, we had no significant damage, although the sirens were going off. Other than straight line wind gusts of 80-90 mph and torrential rain, that was it. We were lucky.
