  1. yeah thats kinda what concerns me, how well is it put together ? what are the gears made out of ? there has to be a downside. if not looks like ive going to be pretty brand loyal. going to wait to hear from others.
  2. prop baits have never been to great of a producer for me personally, poppers were the first topwater bait i learned to fish. walking baits are the last one i learned, as to where i throw them poppers for targets walking baits to cover more water as said above.
  3. 7' mh fast casting 7'3 mh mod casting 7'4 h fast casting 6'9 m fast spinning
  4. pad crasher and padcrasher jr, get a green a white and a black and your set.
  5. been looking for a 6'10"-7'3" mh fast action casting rod lately to replace my worn out cherrywood hd (a missing guide from wear/tear and missing insert on the tip from an accident fishing with a buddy) the st croix bass x is on the high end of my budget but ive heard alot of great things about st croix so i was wondering is anyone could tell me anything about the rod. particularly the durability. this rod will have 15-20lb mono on it at all times and will be the one that i use most so definitely need something that will last a while. my second choice would be an abu garcia vendetta so also would like to hear about it.
  6. since i was in diapers. so about 13 or 14 years.
  7. bettle spins and small grubs
  8. texas rigged worm, i don't care what temperature, time of year, depth or anything else, there is a fish that will eat the worm SOMEWHERE. you can use a ribbon tail or senko but a worm in general.
  9. your lures look better than most the ones in stores!
  10. fish and fisherman have one thing in common, they both like shiny things.
  11. black and blue even in water with decent visibility has been a great producer for me when they're biting it.
  12. fish for channel cats some times, and also crappie for eatin'
  13. i think night fishing with buzz baits might work, if buzz baits don't work i would probably fish a black and blue jig/ worm and swimbait. probably will hurt the daytime fishing abit though.
  14. 2 things, m, mh, or h. and is it moderate or fast tip ? as far as brands go its mostly personal preference, everyone has brands they like and brands not so much, for me i like abu, daiwa, and lew's and dislike quantum.
  15. swim baits and the zoom ol monster, buzz baits can be good to because the fish normally doesn't get a good look at it to see its artificial.
  16. make as little noise as possible especially when landing a bait in the water, many time ill cast and land a bait on the edge of the bank and then pull it in. also try and not make to much noise above the water. think about it, if some one broke your window and came in your house are you gonna be thinking about eating ?
  17. spinning or casting ? the daiwa aird x comes in a 7ft ml.
  18. the academy swimbaits are pretty good, only 6 bucks.
  19. listen to the people the fish the lake normally, "big bass like big baits" isnt always true, i caught my second biggest bass on a small t-rig ribbon tail worm (11lb) i also caught my pb (12.4) on a swimbait. it can go either way. remember whales feed on plankton. heres a few suggestions for a lowish price swimbait for a cheap swimbait h2o xpress swimbaits at academy are only 6 bucks, i know for 6 bucks you probably don't expect much but they move good in the water. also wont need swimbait specific stuff for this. biwaa sevens aren't incredibly expensive. lucky craft real bluegill 150ss or just nose hook one of those tilapia
  20. black/chartreuse for low vis/night, and bluegill/shad color depending what bass are eating, that'll pretty much cover you on a hard bait. also depends what lure, i only have two walking bait colors, white and black, white for shad imitation black for night fishing. on a crank i have some shad some bluegill imitation and also a couple darker/brighter colors, again that and if you want to a craw pattern will do it for you. on soft baits again i get natural and a black/blue or similar for really stained water, you don't need 50 colors.
  21. haha! i guess im wrong then
  22. Just keep a line in the water when you can, you ain't gonna catch anything while your sleeping.
  23. iv'e been looking for a few rods lately and have been thinking about the daiwa aird x series of rods id like to know if they are good rods or not, are the guides on them good ? how well do they hold up ? https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Daiwa_Aird_X_Casting_Rods/descpage-DAX.html?from=basres
  24. yeah id say use 14-17lb mono/fluro or a 30ish lb braid.
