  1. Now that’s awesome!! Huge fish and I can’t believe you ate all that food 😂 we saw some of that wildfire smoke in Minnesota and Michigan also
  2. My wife outfished me with her 3 wt fly rod the other day on a 2.5 hour float, already missing clear water as ours is yohoo colored
  3. Yikes
  4. Doggone , doesn’t even look like a busy street. That’s a long wait at the body shop
  5. Llama and Robertson would be awesome
  6. We need the footage of this incident 😂 . A 2.5 lb spot in the boat all green could cause serious injury to any humans on board I’ve had little LM jump into a kayak when I was frog gigging at night. Just paddling along watching the bank and fish jumped in
  7. 109? Sheesh, I think our record was 105 in 2012, I remember because my buddy roasted his feet running across a boat ramp parking lot ………
  8. I said it doesnt hurt fishing here. Our water is fast , never seen an algae bloom in my life
  9. I got to listen while driving but forgot what I was going to post on here before we stopped the car 😂 I definitely feel that biologist is sharp as a tack and uninfluenced by the vocal minorities I really liked how he pointed out the genetics don’t matter if the habitat isn’t there My bet is a preemptive strike in response to worriers
  10. I actually bought some wire at a tackle shop before rainy lake but didn’t use it as all our fishing trips were kind of short. I think we got 10 on the light line but they were all about two footers except one smaller. im taking the leaders home for gar fishing I guess
  11. Well as of April I’m a maintenance man but I did wildlife work for ironically the same amount of yrs as the interviewee 😂
  12. Smaller hook is better for trout
  13. I’ve voiced a few grievances over the years with TWRA but one thing I like about them is the fact that they want people to eat fish and don’t give a rats hind end about tournaments. i agree with Jolley that listening to the vocal locals is not a great idea, like his spider rigging example
  14. I caught most of my pike recently with 6 lb mono and a flemsy two piece rod , I definitely wasn’t trophy hunting tho 😂. My wife also caught some with 6 lb and flukes. I did have one bite off some stuff but I finally caught and ate it so the joke was on the pike
  15. Say what now ? You lost your socks and made an attempt at a Bob Ross painting? I love trolling cranks but drum really really loved trolled crankbaits. I got a 38-39” drum in the dark walleye trolling once, thought I broke the world record for a second
  16. Thanks for the link, I’ll listen soon. I love eating bass, a delicious white flaky side effect of our favorite pastime
  17. Clearly you’ve never met my wife 😂 She’s a certified magazine junkie
  18. You Gotta try the coosa spots, Alabama bass, whatever the nomenclature happy pencil pushers are calling them now. They are unreal i caught a SMB at rainy lake, MN this weekend that nearly pulled me off a dock. Funny because it was smaller than the one I caught the day before but much stronger . Might have had something to do with its tail
  19. Like my fellow Tennesseans @roadwarrior and @Tennessee Boy posted, lakes and river here are way better than they used to be . They still kill the weeds which is ridiculous but industry not constantly polluting the water has greatly increased fish populations, imagine that. And no DDT and magically we have tons of eagles osprey and herons, who’d a thunk it??? shoreline development doesn’t hurt fishing here, just another dock to catch bass under. Trust me, the shores are EXTREMELY developed. @A-Jay and @ol'crickety, I just spent a couple days driving across nearly all of Michigan and I don’t think there is any reason for concern , I think I saw 4 cars in 3 hours gunning it across the UP 😂
  20. Depends on how many I’ve held that day. I like looking inside their stomach found a perch in a pike last week
  21. Me and my buddy had a heckuva day catching big SMB in a tandem inflatable kayak, darn thing was $68 . Rats chewed holes in it while stored in an outdoor shed, rat scoundrels
  22. Well no TV so I got nothing…… my wife is going to try to watch some of the equestrian stuff on YouTube
  23. I’ve heard there is widespread flooding back home, I’ll see tomorrow but I bet the second half of summer will be a challenge. I’ll probably be cutting grass non stop until Halloween
  24. Just tie the rods to the canoe and hang on…….
  25. Thanks! It’s actually in late August but you gotta get boat tickets to isle royale whenever they are available
