Ok since I’m close friend with about 7 game wardens I’ll tell you their thoughts on this topic, in fact I’ve heard them say this at public talks and such. In TN, our possession limit is typically twice the daily creel limit. Are they going to go to everyone’s house in the state and make sure they have less than 30 crappie in their freezer? Not a chance. where this rule comes into play is in cases of egregious poachers. Game wardens can write all the tickets they want and once things go through a court, not all of the charges will stick. You know, murders and such kind of take precedent. So when they are trying to get known poachers more charges in hopes they might learn a lesson, they will go to their house and check the freezer. That way it can be fishing without a license, more than possession limit, and a list of other charges instead of just one. They aren’t exactly locking these people up so they use the possession limit to make fines greater for repeat offenders if someone who buys license , registers their boat, and never keeps more than a single limit in a day has 31 crappie in the freezer, they aren’t coming after you. Many people fish to survive and they don’t want to punish someone for trying to eat dinner instead of starving common sense does still hold some weight in this scenario

That’s surprising, I’ve had some wonderful days of fishing in the 47-49 degree water temp range. Even seen them schooling on top

Bugs love a lake, the way I got rid of termites at our place was to eliminate any moisture by modifying the ground to where it ran around the house and downhill. Apparently most any insect requires a little bit of moisture. I still get some bugs in the basement but I don’t spray anything at all until my wife insists. Once I got the basement all dry the majority of the bugs left

I fish smallies several times a week and rarely, almost never, use any of the 3. But I do have lots of friends…. many of my friends throw nothing but a ned rig and they catch ‘em so I would rank it as very effective wacky rig is not effective at all for me, might as well just buy a pack of worms and hooks and toss them into the garbage drop shot is good stuff, I just don’t rig them up often cuz I fish evenings after work and don’t really wanna fiddle with tying them

Thermocline disappears in winter and we can catch fish plenty deep or shallow, water temp is the same on top as it is 100 feet down then on the main river reservoirs , there is never a well defined thermocline due to the current

Ummmm, there were 3 cheating scandals at top level tournaments just this season. You had to be living under the rock of Gibraltar to have missed the walleye thing. Then you had the BPT debacle at cayuga and the BASS open on eufala, AL. We could pretend these never happen but they do, wouldn’t need prisons if everyone behaved

The reel was $20 and the rod was $10 hahah. Both from academy. Rod is B &M 410 medium ultra light and reel is quantam optix that was completely broken a few weeks ago (got flooded canoeing) but I got her up and running again . 4 lb Shakespeare mono

I have used the 87 plus corn squeezings , but I added star tron enzyme when I did. Now that fuel has come back down some I can afford the pure gas, there was a time when it was over $5/gallon and I kind of couldn’t
