Well, this happened to me back in Feb of 1981 I believe. I took my wife fishing, I was not in the mood to go , but she wanted to. We went to Bugs Island to bank fish. It was about 50 degrees , warm for that time of year. I stopped at Ray Wests and bought a dozen Crappie minnows and we went right below his store at a big rock. I caught 10 slabs that weighted over a pound each. I hauled but back to Rays and bought 4 more doz. minnows, never got another bite. The school left Always take plenty of bait

I managed a golf course for about 20 years, I also kept the weed growth down in the water hazards, There are chemicals that can do a good job and kill no fish. The biggest thing is follow the directions to the letter. You may need a pesticide license depending on the state you are in and the chemicals you use. I let mine expire in June of 2012. If you don't know what you are doing get a professional, you will not regret it.
