  1. Fishing all week with anything without re-tying any line is a terrible idea.
  2. I ended up getting an older GLX 842 MBR rod at the beginning of 2022. My favorite uses are 1/4oz Mini Max Chatterbait, 5/16 finesse spinnerbaits, squarebills 1/4-1/3oz, shaky heads, tubes. As far as jigs/T-Rigs go, I will stick to my 852 JWR rods. The extra fast tip is better for hook sets.
  3. Look at their site now. It’s under new management, Georgia Lure bought it https://www.cabincreekbaits.com
  4. Spinner baits, mini max, bandit 100, jigs
  5. Get that Tatula 7’1” ml rod! It’s killer for DS and any other finesse stuff
  6. I fish these kind of lakes a lot. Best baits are: finesse jigs, shaky heads with worms, spinner baits, Neds, buzz baits, poppers Check steep bluff walls and cat right on them and let your jig fall straight down to the bottom, work it back slooooooowly. Shaky heads also work the same way.
  7. Get some Boss swim jigs heads and skirts and make your own.....and save a lot of money. 3/8 and 1/2oz mix. They are an excellent design, and work really well. If you want to run them with jus the bait, and no skirt they also work great.
  8. Anyone have an opinion on Shabbona lake? Looking to bass fish this week.
  9. Zoom chunk jr! You don’t always need a lot of movement. Try it, you will be surprised how effective it is.
  10. I read through the posts to my question, and not one female responded, just a lot of dudes talking about females who fish. Haha ? Here’s to hoping some (more) ladies find their way here.
  11. I have been on here for a few years now, and I don’t recall any commenters being female. I know lots of young girls and women love to fish, and think it would be a wonderful addition to this site if more women were involved. Any ladies out there, It would be great to have your input. thx
  12. Anyone check out the owner Haymaker hook yet? I like the look of the design.
  13. Tatula 150 is fantastic reel for what you want to do.
  14. FC with everything except top water baits, then I will use mono.
  15. Boss Dock Knocker 3/8 and 1/2oz. make your own with these heads for around $2.75ea Also love the Gary Klein flipping head.
  16. I love all the IMX-Pro rods I have. 853c JWR, 852c JWR, 843c MBR. great rods!
  17. The 7’ medium is a great shaky head rod. It has a great taper, and can handle up to a 5/16SH jig no problem. The 6’10” has an extra fast tip, and has a little stiffer action over all. If you want to use 1/16 SH jigs, it might not load enough for you. Both are killer rods. As you stated the 7’1” drop shot rod is also a great rod. It is one of my all time favorite spinning rods regardless of price.
  18. I do not find this to be the case. I feel slack line bites on my braid to leader rigs all the time.
  19. Also 3.5
  20. The 2000 Tatula LT is very compact and smooth. I have one of my three on my ultra light, and it performs great. I think I have thousands of fish on it. but both a Tat and a Stradic would be nice, but the new Stradic reels are way heavier. I’d go Tatula
  21. Zoom Meathead Zoom Z Drop Smallie Smasher Swamp Crawler
  22. Canadian’s call Pike, Jacks too.
  23. Before I heard the Zillion g wasn’t good for skipping I was skipping 25-30’ with mine. Guess I’ll continue.
