  1. Do your mini-max's ride up when retrieving? I've been using a small grub as the trailer, but it rises up, almost creating a wake at speeds to make it thump.
  2. Anyone win one of the TW Rico blem packs? Nothing to my email so far….
  3. Congrats on the bonus, I enjoy reading your posts about the hotel. As for upgrading your gear…what technique do you enjoy the most? For me it would be top water frogging and thats where I would start my search.
  4. My son has it. It’s actually nice. I tried a couple games, including the fishing one and didn’t get motion sickness after using it for about 30 mins. The 128gb is pretty good storage for like 8-10 games. Games are in the $10-30 range. What I don’t like is that it requires a Facebook account to use.

Happy B-day, 3 more years until your recommended age for your annual rectal exam!
  6. I'm waiting for the TM with electric rods to shock up fish on those really slow days.
  7. They are aftermarket, made by Brocraft. They're really high quality 316 stainless steel, not inexpensive but worth the peace of mind. The bimini top was from National Bimini tops, pretty standard with sunbrella fabric. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S63GCVY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
  8. I have one that fits into the Lund tracks. It takes about 5 mins to put up or down, and is really nice for cruising around in the summer with friends and family. It’s also nice for my 81 year old dad on brutal summer days when we’re waiting golden hour to come. I’ll on plane at 25-30mph and it feels sturdy. I get a lot of mileage out of mine.
  9. I only have the heavy casting, and never handled a Fury. But the Fury grip looks nicer than the Aird. The Aird flex is probably pretty similar, H/F is more like MH+/ModF than what I’m used to. I’ve read Dobyns are somewhat similar, a step lower and slower in power/action. I’m getting them as spare rods for guests in my boat that don’t have gear for heavy cover. They are great for the money though and I wouldn’t hesitate to fish them if I was limited in options. I think @MN Fisher has both Fury and Airds so maybe he can chime in.
  10. Possibly, I just remember I keep the GC email until next year, maybe just saving it for BF.
  11. Whoa, apparently TW decided no one has the patience and GC's are 10% off now!
  12. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/25days.html Yep live now. Some notables for me: Rico Blems are now a lottery, this is a nice change from the norm of dialing in at 12PST to constantly get a busy dial tone. Daiwa Aird X rods will be at least 30% off making one of the best budget rods out there even cheaper. Z-Man customs will be at least 30% off, almost as good as Jackhammers for about 1/4 of the price.
  13. Amazon will have some freakish deals on large spools of Tatsu once in a while. Add the line size to your wish list and you'll see it drop once in a while. Also TW usually does a 10% off all gift cards from Dec 26th - Jan 1st. Buy a large gift card for yourself and test your patience until 2022! TW has 10% giftcards live now too through Jan 10th!
  14. I give bank fisherman plenty of space on both sides, at least 50 yards. I'm in a boat, I can go find many other spots the bank fishers can't access.
  15. https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-100-mph-gore-tex-rain-jacket-for-men 25% off, $188.
  16. I put AGM's in my 2021, and while they're sufficient for a full day of fishing at Black Hills, I'll probably go 36v lithium when they die. Glad the new Li's are working out for you. When are we gonna do some whiskey and cigars????
  17. I frogged 2 summers with this rod, and it has surprising back bone, do not underestimate it's power based on the flex. I switched to a 7'2 frog rod for longer casts, but the GLX 844C remains as one of my most versatile rods for anything over 3/8oz to 1oz. Are you used to 1/2oz jigs with a F or XF heavy rod? If so using this rod may take you a few hooksets to get comfortable with where the rod flexes its power, it's not immediate, but it hits when you need it. I think it would be a great rod for a kayak at 7'.
  18. When I use a jerkbait, I don't like slower/light power rods where I'm moving my arms 3 feet to give the action. I prefer smaller/crisp wrist jerks and the 7' Ehrler is fantastic for me for hard/soft jerkbaits. It will work for squarebills, but losen up the drag a little. It will work with 1/2 spooks and they will walk great, but you're going to be pushing the rod tip's with any 3/4oz lure, hard or soft, but it will be manageable if you don't whip it hard. When I go bank fishing, the 7' Ehrler is the rod I take because I can throw almost anything on it, 1/8oz inline spinners to lob casting Jack Gantarel Jrs with a customized Alphas SV105.
  19. If you've never had an Islay scotch, try a dram at a bar before you shell out $50. It's heavily peated, so it can taste like a wet sock that was soaked in campfire ashes, or it can be delicious to some people.
  20. Yep, our state gives free boating seminars but they're voluntary. But the first thing I did when I purchased my first trailered boat was to set up 2 cones in a parking lot and practice backing up between them. Same parking lot I learned to parallel park too!
  21. Ah, I love peated whiskey...when it gets cooler though. Almost that time of year, firepits and peat. It was a little too late to celebrate the Ravens' win last night, so I'm pouring the dram tonight.
  22. In the past, they would take the discount off after checking out, e.g. your TW checkout would say $100, but the email invoice would be $85 on some of the excluded brands, such as Daiwa and Shimano.
  23. Tackle Warehouse is having a 15% off Labor Day sale. Wonder if they will still take off the discount for stuff like Daiwa/Shimano after checking out.
  24. Boat prices will be what the market will support. I traveled almost 1,000 miles to get a boat that was in stock and with discounted price. No chance I get that same boat in my local market for at least 2 years.
